    Mtb offroad Satnav / GPS

My understanding is that there is always a baseline map that looks like the old AA road map of Great Britain and without any further tiles it will use this and record your route. Buying 1:50 000 is much more cost effective of course. The other really low cost option is an app called 'Outdoors...

    SRAM X01 & XX1 Eagle 12-Speed - First Look

One way or another I have averaged less than 6 months per cassette, SES sprocket, front chain ring and chain. When my current XX1 goes I will switch to the cheaper SRAM cassette. Also changed two XX1 derailleurs.

    Mtb offroad Satnav / GPS

I also use OS map finder as it has full resolution 1:25 000 maps that allows you to zoom right in. There is nothing really like it in the world for navigating. The problem is that the information is not vector based so they cannot rotate the map and have the map data stay the right way up. So if...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

At this time of the year I wash my bike on the lawn, the grass appreciates the wide varieties of soils collected around Buckinghamshire. I also used to have your rear mudguard but since I removed it (technically it removed itself going over a big bump) I don't get all the compressed mud down the...

Would this fit a uk towbar

I have fitted a 1UpUSA bike carrier to my wife's UK car. It slides into a 1'5" or 2" tow hitch receiver but I got the tow hitch receiver from Amazon.com and the brand is CURT. Both items are of great quality. Do not get a light board from the US as they tend to use their brake lights for...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I have the Hans Dampf tyres on my Bosch powered Haibike AMT Pro and find the front end grip pretty good. If you have front suspension check the pressure and rebound rate is correct; you can adjust them so that the suspension is keeping the wheel above the ground too much so look there. Also, I...

    Noseless saddle?

I have done 4500 miles on an Selle SMP Plus http://www.amazon.co.uk/MTB--Touring-saddle-Selle-SMP-Plus/dp/B000NVYGR4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444511836&sr=8-1&keywords=selle+smp+plus A great percentage of this has been off road, all on a Haibike AMT Pro and the saddle has transformed the riding...

44t Cog for SRAM XX1/X01 cassette

My mistake, thanks for the correction.

44t Cog for SRAM XX1/X01 cassette

mab13 is absolutely correct; you need both a chain whip and the cassette locking tool to remove a cassette and only the locking tool to replace it. I am a little surprised that the cassette has become loose as the force from pedalling is always trying to tighten it. I wonder if it could be a...

Electric Fat Bike Interest In UK?

We are in the Gers but also no real need for a fat bike. In fact even though it is so rural this is where I do my least off road. Poor maps marking the equivalent of footpaths, lots of angry dogs means I tend to stick to the delightful tiny roads. You do have some of the world's finest beaches...

44t Cog for SRAM XX1/X01 cassette

weight is irrelevant to me also so I do not know the disadvantage, assuming that it has the same thick thin cadence of the XX1.

Electric Fat Bike Interest In UK?

It is a great It is a great question, if you are going to be cycling on rocks no bigger than 6cm you can manage without, by having the tyre absorb the impact. For everything else you are just getting pummelled. If I swap my Haibike with the Lectric during an off road section it makes me realise...

Electric Fat Bike Interest In UK?

If it had a torque sensor that was as good as my Bosch then it would be worlds better. It just does not encourage effort as all your work is dwarfed by the huge power of the Bafang all coming in as soon as you move the pedals.

Electric Fat Bike Interest In UK?

I had a twist grip and really did not like it; I now have a thumb throttle on the left hand side and it is better but I personally do not like using it. It makes it more like riding on something as opposed to riding a bike. You are just hanging on whilst it hauls you up. I have the twist grip...

Electric Fat Bike Interest In UK?

I guess I paid three times that but I do not enjoy the feel of the speed sensor so that I do not ride it. Thus it is not so much about the price but about the overall bike. Even if my bike cost £1000 I would not do it again; the motor and its control is the one area where I cannot compromise.

Electric Fat Bike Interest In UK?

I own this bike, the Lectric Cycles 750W. It can be fun; but you really have to keep changing the tyre pressures to match the mission. In an urban setting with around 22psi it rolls quite nicely (on my Husker Dü tyres) and shrugs off super wide grates, potholes etc. On steep downhill loose shale...

44t Cog for SRAM XX1/X01 cassette

Considering how often the cassette needs replacement just because of wear on the aluminium 42T ring I am not surprised that someone has produced this. I wish that SRAM would supply a replacement original 42T part. Guess they are happy enough with our paying £300 a couple of times a year for a...

    hope disc rotor

The top port with the yellow cable seems to be running at only 100mbps, I know that you are always after the maximum amount of speed.

I get that a lot when the rotor gets too hot. If it is not too bad and if it is not shrieking then it will wear off. I once cooked my rear one so bad that I had to replace it. It could be because your pads seem to be set wrongly and are not coving all the friction area, they need to be further...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Well I have not only learned something this morning I have gained a useable chain as I received an X1 chain in error then swapped it for an XX1. I was wondering what I might do with it. Many thanks. Are hollow pins just lighter or stronger.
