Considering how often the cassette needs replacement just because of wear on the aluminium 42T ring I am not surprised that someone has produced this. I wish that SRAM would supply a replacement original 42T part. Guess they are happy enough with our paying £300 a couple of times a year for a whole new cassette.

should work as just changed my chane from xx1 to pc x1 and works fine

The less-than-100g weight differential is irrelevant to me so, disregarding that, what would the disadvantages be of the GX line cassette over an X1 cassette at twice the price or an XX1 cassette at three times the price?
weight is irrelevant to me also so I do not know the disadvantage, assuming that it has the same thick thin cadence of the XX1.

im getting knocking in last gear atm and cant work out what's causing it ;(

Yep, the GX 1x11 is compatible with SRAM's other 1x11 group sets... so this cassette is a good option if you're going through two a year! I'm not even close to that level of use though.

well looks like my cassette is lose and needs tightening up just need the tool to do it.

thanks its def lose as can move it buy hand just need the lock tool and have 12mm axle on rear tho getting rid of the qw part of it for a syntace 1 .

mab13 is absolutely correct; you need both a chain whip and the cassette locking tool to remove a cassette and only the locking tool to replace it. I am a little surprised that the cassette has become loose as the force from pedalling is always trying to tighten it. I wonder if it could be a hub/bearing issue allowing the cassette to move. I would consider also buying a chain whip so if you did need to take the cassette off for further investigation you are not waiting for the part. Or just take the wheel to your bike shop and see if they will give you the 30 seconds to tighten it.

You can get away without the chain whip, but it's easier if you have one.

A rag wrapped around the sprockets and held tightly will work in a pinch.

If you don't have a chain whip to hand and have any car tools about then you can use a car oil filter chain grip and a spanner.

b4 i adjusted it the chain was hitting the frame with the top wheel of the de-railer in top gear must of vibrated it lose somehow.
