Bosch Active Line Motor Casing - Creeking

l would lose more by selling it and buying an alternative bike, than l would by keeping it and budgeting for a replacement motor sometime in the future.

Bosch Active Line Motor Casing - Creeking

The O/P has not been back since 2020 so it's unlikely we'll find out if he solved his creaking motor unit. But l would second the comments above, a similar creaking on my Shimano E8000 mid drive motor was due to loose motor mounting bolts. Tightened (to the correct torque) and the creaking...

    Would you believe it?

l bought the little Mirider folding ebike for my wife to ride when we are on holiday. I've been out on the bike about ten times since purchasing it two weeks ago, covering around 130 miles in total. And this is the thing. l actually prefer the Mirider to my £5,600 Kona FS e-mountain bike...

    Disc brake issues

Well, for now l've ordered two new discs as they are only £6 each, it's not worth taking the bike back to the shop for a £12 warranty claim.

There's no price in the listing, you need to state a price.

    Disc brake issues

Good points, the Kona has a torque sensor as well as a cadence sensor so the motor won't start unless you actually put pressure on the pedals (just turning them won't do it!) Where the folding ebike is just a cadence sensor so if the pedals turn, the motor can spring into life at full power...

    Disc brake issues

l could, and it would be much better, but the brake levers have switches on them for the motor (so when you apply the brakes it shuts off the motor) l guess l would have to bypass those? My Kona e-mountain bike doesn't have them, so they can't be a legal requirement or essential. Although on...

    Disc brake issues

My new folding ebike came with Clark's mechanical disc brakes. They are a fairly basic design, in that the lever only moves the outside pad, so it pushes the disc against the other pad to apply the brake. While it does work, both front and rear brakes are not smooth in their operation, it's as...

My Urban Mover 26S got stolen from my Car boot. DAMN THEFT!!!

lt's unlikely he'll see your message as he's not been back on here since 2012

    Onebot S9 speed unlock

Changing it one wheel size won't affect the speedometer by much, most seem to read optimistically so you might even make it more accurate. As standard it will be probably set to 16". lf you can change it, try 14" which was the next size down on my controller. The actual wheel diameter in mine is...

    Onebot S9 speed unlock

On my Mirider 1, which is based on the Onebot, you can get into the settings by turning on the computer, then IMMEDIATELY holding down the up and down buttons together for five seconds This gets the bike into programming mode, and although l haven't worked out what all the setting do, l have...

Hi and my first ebike 50+

Yes l accept it's only for serious MTB riding where you are going to need the gearing/control of a mid drive motor. For trail riding and light off road, a hub drive will provide plenty of good clean fun.

Hi and my first ebike 50+

Good points. I was talking more about the actual riding of the bike, rather than how easy it is to repair. l do take the point about repairs though. l've got both, although my mid drive is a Shimano, and there are no spares for the motor at all, so if it fails l am faced with a bill of nearly...

Hi and my first ebike 50+

So, Neilh you would take the Wisper over the Cube? Please elaborate
  16. lightning

I think I may have talked myself out of buying an electric bike………for now anyway.

"Check out the review by Sue" With any ebike, if you look through the reviews there's always someone who thinks it's the biggest pile of junk ever to fall out of a shipping container.

Hi and my first ebike 50+

That Wisper 705 looks a nice bike, the larger wheels will always be a good thing. It's not a folding bike so unless you need it to fold, it looks like a good buy. The only thing l would say, is that if you don't need a folding bike it's close to the price of a bike with the mid mounted Bosch...

Hi and my first ebike 50+

l've just bought a Mirider folding ebike and it's really good, surprisingly comfortable ride and weighs only 17kg Worth a look Even thrashing it l can get 15-20 miles from a charge, and being U.K. based at least there's some comeback if you need spares or a repair.

    Mirider 1 off road

Another ride today, mainly on road but with nearly 2,000 feet of climbing, and some of the hills were stand on the pedals steep! The battery expired at the bottom of the last hill, but after l got off and started to push it, the motor came back to life, so l got back on and made it to the top...

    Mirider 1 wheel circumference change

No l never saw that one, but l need a second folding ebike so will take a look, thank you for the heads up. UPDATE it doesn't seem to be available, why is nobody selling this version in the U.K.?
