    Brexit, for once some facts.

Life in Woosh world must be a very strange place. Vietnam relies on coffee exports.... really? Not according to the actual data. Coffee, tea, spices: $4.5 billion (2.1%) So that's only 2.1% of its exports, and thats for Coffee, tea and spices all together. So it doesn't look like they rely...

ok, so we're drilling down into the details, and again I think you might be slightly out of date. There are 49 countries on the list currently (or at least that is the latest list I can find) http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2017/july/tradoc_155840.pdf The list of countries that your...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Whilst I'm not doubting that document, two things jump out at me from first read. 1) its from 2011! 2) its got different rates for the EU, Norway and Switzerland. So are you sure that your information is up to date? I refer you again to the EU page about this...

Where have you got that data from? I can't see how the countries can be exempt from quota / tariff and then you seem to be suggesting they are being charged it.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the EU doesn't charge any duty at all to all but 3 coffee exporting countries, and to those 3 its only 2.6%. Isn't it?? The 3 countries that are effected are all due to have agreements in place soon, to bring it down to 0. See point 13. in the twitter thread. Or is he wrong? I'm not...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

Just wanted to reply to this.... There are a load of countries that are classed as Developing that the EU actively supports by giving them access to the EU with no tariff / duty. http://trade.ec.europa.eu/tradehelp/everything-arms

Ok, well I learnt something today. If this has been posted before, sorry if I missed it. So one of the points many in favour of "leave" have spoken about that I've had some sympathy with, was mentioned by a certain Jeremy Corbyn this weekend. Namely, the protectionist EU imposing tariffs on...

Well I can't comment on that... other than to say that many people don't research the product they are buying. and I'd suggest it's not hype, its a well branded marketing. People by German kitchens, german shampoo... its all marketed on being German for a reason, and lots of people trust it...

Also don't forget we're comparing apples and oranges. Look at cars / motorbikes. You can buy cheap and you can by high end all from very similar factories. Just because you can buy car x for y, doesn't mean people won't buy much more expensive models that still get you from a2b. Bikes are...

This just shows that less bikes are being imported into the EU... it doesn't say anything about the sales of the EU made bikes.

That book is about general imports not about bikes is it. I just wanted to see the graph you've shown go back another 25 years.

Ok, so there is no way of looking at the numbers from before the anti dumping was introduced? That data is just since 2000, so doesn't show if more or less bikes are built in Europe as a result of the policy. Also we can't say with any certainty that if the duty wasn't there, the 13,149,000...

Yes, I know they rely on parts from China, as I've said before I think its pretty cleat the EU doesn't want the manufacturing industry, it just wants the assembly lines. Which is why the brands all source their parts from around the world and make them into bikes inside the EU, therefore just...

I'm not sure what you mean, by they failed with normal bikes? Trek, Giant, Cannondale, Cube in fact all the big bike brands assemble a high % their bikes inside the EU. The fast majority of bikes sold in bike shops in the UK are EU built.

You said... the bus had nothing to do with the situation we're now in. I proved that it is a contributing factor and now you're changing the question. The questions you're now asking is different. But I think the bus is still a key thing, it is all that is bad about current politics and we...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Well not quite.. the collapse in the value of the £ has put the NHS bills up by quite a bit, and they are also not getting the same number of staff applications from the EU. That's just 2 negatives from the vote, and we've not even left yet.

Bit of backround for you. There are 2 KTM's, like the Twix factories. One makes bikes and one makes motorbikes. They are separate, but both in Mattigohofen (the M in KTM). The bicycle bit, has the rights to the pedelec market. The motorbike bit, doesn't. The motorbike bit, owns Husquvana...

Buying decision help please! Ghost Hybride Kato FS 6 or Specialized FSR Comp 6Fattie?

also worth considering, is the shop you're buying it from. Most bikes these days are excellent, so you're looking at details, and the shop can be more important to your experience than the bike in some cases. Personally I'd go with the Specialized.

ah, we currently get meat from Argentina already. But your saying it'll be cheaper, and you think that'll be good for our beef farmers in the UK?
