EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

Sorry that wasn't meant to be a criticism of the factories, I meant it as a statement about manufacturing generally. We've shipped a lot of the "dirty" stuff out of Europe to the Far East, and what we have left here is in the most cases assembly lines. (I know this is a generalisation) This...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Care to give any examples of how we can get cheaper meat than we already rear in the UK? Oh wait, I suspect you're suggesting we'll get meat cheaper from other countries outside of Europe and in the process of lowering the standards we'll also destroy our farming industry, all to save customers...

EBMA files an anti dumping complaint on chinese e-bikes.

The problem is the EU want you to assemble the bikes in the EU, they don't care where the component parts come from, its the labour they want here so you employ people in the EU, not China. Most bike parts on most bikes come from the Far East. The EU doesn't want the dirty factory that makes...

What's the deal with frequently broken spokes?

Its not a cheap shot... its a fair shot. Bike shops should be able to order spokes from a host of suppliers. If they can't it'll be for a number of reasons, non of them positive.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

They are saying that the confusion over diesels has had an impact. I'm not sure why its not had the same impact in other countries, or why if you don't want a diesel you wouldn't just buy a petrol, but we'll not worry about those details. It also the diesel confusion doesn't explain why bike...

What's the deal with frequently broken spokes?

Just go to a bike shop, spokes can be cut and threaded to length with a simple tool that most decent bike shops should have. It might cost you a few p more per spoke. But you'll be supporting the industry and get some one real to speak to about the wheel build.

What's the deal with frequently broken spokes?

https://www.sheldonbrown.com/spoke-length.html and remember if you wheel is dished (which is probably is) you'll need 2mm shorter on the drive side than on the non drive side. If you're worried about snapping spokes, pay someone to build the wheel.

What's the deal with frequently broken spokes?

Yes, that's correct. Just make sure you get the correct length and remember a well build wheel with bad components, is better than a badly built wheel with good components. Ideal is a well built, evenly tensioned wheel, built with good components.

What's the deal with frequently broken spokes?

Plain gauge spokes are cheaper and heavier, but not stronger or better. Double Butted will be better, they give a bit more stretch and therefore build a better wheel.

    Government subsidize

Well yes, they are all via your pay packet as far as I know, because they are supposed to be being used to cycle to work, so if you don't have a job its pretty hard to commute ;) But the individual and the business benefit.

    Government subsidize

Flecc, you're normally spot on, so I'm surpised you don't know about this. The Cycle 2 Work scheme is open in individuals and can cover eBIkes and its a very tex efficient way of getting a bike. https://greencommuteinitiative.uk/ There are many other schemes out there like this.
