    Bafang Max Drive bikes

We don't know the price of a Bafang Max motor set. Or do we Woosh? There is some extra cost in the frame but that disappears with volume sales. And the big item, as on all bikes, is the battery, I think the Max would be happiest married to a 15 or 17 Ah 36 V or an 11.6 Ah 48 V. Your cycle to...

How fast do you go on legal ebikes that are not derestricted?

Yes cut out is at 25 km/h and the bars are trekking bars but turned down a bit so I am between flat and drop bar body angle. Air resistance is felt at +40 km/h and becomes noticeably hard at 45 km/h, my top speed down steep hills in that position is about 53 km/h, lying down I have topped 62...

How fast do you go on legal ebikes that are not derestricted?

I would say that on the (very rare) flat bits I can pedal at about 30-32 km/h on my very heavy bike if there is no wind.

The riddle of complete bikes cheaper than kits?

I wrote about my rack just now in another thread and went to Google to check the correct name. Then I saw the prices... Last year I paid 48€ at Rose, today it is at 55€. OK so a little inflation there however, in France, the same rack is at its cheapest at 69€ and also on Google shopping at...

battery too big to fit in triangle.

Option 2 with a stock standard rack (Tubus Fly Evo) This is where my battery lives, when the photo was taken the controller was in the pannier as well. My plan was also a bit of ply with battery holder(s) attached and in turn ply attached by bolting the ply through the pannier to the rack...

battery too big to fit in triangle.

Welcome to the small triangle club Steve! :) I agree with d8veh on the rivnuts ripping out but I don't think you will ever touch the front wheel on that bike. How about on the top bar? I was going to go that way but I can hardly lift my left leg over the frame let alone a battery... :( If you...

    58V on a 48V controller.

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbykingtm-cellmeter-6-lipo-life-li-ion-cell-checker-alarm.html This is a flimsy thing so it needs some protection but it does readings to x.xx V, mine are set to 3.65 V but I generally just read the overall voltage of the LCD-3 screen and when it drops to 36.5 V I...

    58V on a 48V controller.

Try 4 of these in 2P2S, for £200 including cables you will have a 44.4 V 16 Ah battery that will last +1000 cycles according to the drone guys. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-graphene-8000mah-6s-15c-w-xt60.html

    58V on a 48V controller.

Normal you don't have enough Amps. My 37 V 20 Ah nominative lipos drop from 41.x V hot of the charger to 38.5 V after 50 km of hilly riding...

    Pedal Assist bracket other side

5 mm is about the maximum recommended for most. The new Bafang sensor is up to 25 mm which is a huge progress!

d8veh I am sure I read somewhere that both batteries had to have the same number of cell groups and that the Ah of the smallest one was the one that would be doubled? Is that only aplicable to LiPo?

No you can't use both at once, only identical batteries can be put in parallel. Different batteries with the same Amp rating can be put in series to increase voltage.

    Bafang Max Drive bikes

I just chucked the numbers into my bike spreadsheet: With highish end components I end up with a bike at 1980 GBP (2300 €) including a 300 € battery. A bit steep but my choice of components (DT Swiss wheels, RST monoshock fork, magura brakes...) and a motor that has been measured against Yamaha...
