I've just ordered one of these:
https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-battery/730-36v10ah-bottle-09-e-bike-battery-charger-battery.html
Anyone used one before and know what connector it comes with? Is it a cable coming out, or a socket on the battery itself?
Any help appreciated.
Not as far as I'm aware.
Slip your current circuit board out of the housing, take a few good quality pictures and post them here. It may be an easy mod to add a few amps to the one you have.
'soldering the shunt' enables you to increase the current that the controller delivers to the motor. You may be able to achieve this with your existing controller, but I had in my head that you needed a new one.
20a might be a bit much, but 18a probably be ok.
Get yourself watt meter(ebay) and a KU65 from from www.bmsbattery.com solder the shunt a bit at a time and monitor each time.
You aren't going to get a load more speed though. Perhaps 18 -19 mph.
A charger doesn't have an Ah rating, only a current/voltage rating. (I'm not suggesting it's not in the description, only that it's erroneous if it is).
It needs to be correct for the chemistry. 42v is correct for li-ion.
Yup, should be ok. It's a tiny bit wider, but I'd assume the nobby nic is measured from the carcass, not the knobbly bits.
You might need better puncture protection though, perhaps the big Apple plus?
If you have the money, a Brooks leather saddle is the most comfy, and will probably last forever. It's counter-intuitive, but soft saddles aren't always the most comfortable.
Fleccs valuation formula was roughly:
(New price - battery replacement cost) x 45% (4 year old bike)
Then add the battery residual value back in, which is:
(450 /24)x15 = £281(in your case)
So, how much was it new?
Haha. In the UK 'soil' is a euphemisitic term for ****.
I'm sure it's not, but it made me chuckle.
Welcome to the forum. I lived in Uppsala for a while and enjoyed it very much.
