Bike build - xiongda 2 speed

Thanks for that, as soon as my wife and son stop consuming ALL available bandwidth I will ask the sellers. I might ask him if he would like to swap it for a 40 y.o. housewife, or a small ginger boy.

    From 250W to 350W

All controllers are smart. Their job (among other things) is to control the amount of currrent that the motor receives. Most 250w/36v bikes operate at a maximum of 15 amps. The battery will have a maximum continuous current that it can supply. It doesn't matter what controller you have, if you...

S-KU65 controller and Hidden Wire Brake Sensors (HWBS)

I ordered 3 controllers, they were all the same. They only have one three wire connector, and one two wire connector.

S-KU65 controller and Hidden Wire Brake Sensors (HWBS)

Pretty sure it was wired wrong, as I tested it on the bench.

S-KU65 controller and Hidden Wire Brake Sensors (HWBS)

I just came to install a couple of these, all delivered from BMSBattery yesterday. The sensors and the controller are wired slightly differently, and won't simply plug n play. If you just plug them in the light on the HWBS will be always on. The solution is to swap the position of the Yellow...

How to test power output from battery with multimeter

Yup, sounds like a problem with battery. Can you take it apart? Might be simply fault.

    Good Quality Throttle

I have installed/used about 20 throttles. Only one has ever broken, and that came with my first kit, second hand, 3 years ago. The remaining 19 (or so) have come from BMSbattery.

    Powabyke repair.

IIRC those are 36v brushed DC motors. If you are supplying it with 38v and it does not turn, it's the motor (or wiring to it). Does it have two wires going in?

How to test power output from battery with multimeter

...make sure the leads are in the correct holes (V, not A!) Or you'll have a nice big flash and some smoke.

    New Gtech ebike

Neither would a modern car. It's still either a Diesel or Petrol car. The electronic element of either vehicle is simply there to control the delivery of power.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I don't normally post here, but today I think I'm allowed to. For various reasons, my off roader has been, well, off the road. I finally found a spare hour or two to fix her up. I made a few mods while I was about it, and gained enough confidence to ride her up to Woodbury Common. (East Devon)...

Threaded headset slightly sticky in straight ahead... Replace?

+1. Take it apart, add plenty of grease, put it back together. It'll probably be fine after that.

tuning my bike for more speed

How about soldering the shunt? Is it possible/easy on these controllers?

tuning my bike for more speed

There are two easy things you can do: 1. Remove the restriction. This will allow the motor to assist to a higher speed, and then as you go faster the assistance will tail off. 2. Modify the controller so it gives a bit more current. Thus will give you more current, thus more power. So you'll...

    Hello from the New Forest

Yes and no. If all you want is a little assistance, say for climbing hills on the road, then nearly any modern mountain bike of reasonable quality will suffice. V-brakes as a minimum. If you want to go beyond 250w, then you need to start thinking about disk brakes. But all depends on the...
