July 29, 201510 yr Hi.I have a dillema !! My Freego Eagle is Knackerd aparantly !! Its been to my dealer twice and they have tried everything but cant fix the problem,The problem is that it keeps loosing all power after a while and nothing will get it back!!,and then it died altogether and nothing since. They have tried replacing al the parts and censors but the problem is the same and the only thing left is a new motor??.What I would like to know is!! is it worth buying a new motor ( 210 quid from Freego ) or a lot cheaper on ebay, and pay someone to rebuild it all or sell it as not working/spares or strip it and sell all the parts !! Regards Steve.
July 29, 201510 yr Seems unlikely to be the motor If the whole lot goes off. Try disconnecting the motor, then powering up and see what happens.
July 29, 201510 yr It's not worth buying a new motor. Instead, you should find a technician that knows how to test and fix an electric bike. These bikes are very simple. Anybody with any basic electrical knowledge should be able to test it to find the problem. Where do you live? Maybe there's someone nearby.
July 29, 201510 yr Author Hi.And thanks for the replys.I live in Exeter and I have to add that when it stops everything else works IE all the lights etc but no power to the rear wheel !! which is a pain when your 5 miles from home with a load of shopping ?? in your panniers??. I've not got the bike back yet but I have bought a folding bike ( non electric ) so I can ride to Exeter bus station fold the bike and go to the Airport where I work and returne the same way!! but sometimes it's to late so I ride to the nearest bus stop ( about 3 miles ) and bus it from there and it cuts about 5 miles each way from my commute so much better?.but this doesn't solve the problem with my bike ?? what should I do with it ??. Regards Steve
