    How Much

I think Flecc came up with a formula for valuation. I'd say about £400

    Building a Battery Pack

Is weight an issue? If not it's cheaper to use a 12 ah SLA.

Bike ordered: Kudos Arriba. Child seat required!

Rack mounted ones do, which is pretty much what the thread is about.

Bike ordered: Kudos Arriba. Child seat required!

That sort won't work, because of the controller position. Something like this and a rack: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/koolah-rear-child-bike-seat-rack-mount-id_8132178.html ....this article will get you started with front mounted ones, my personal favourite option...

battery and controller in a rucksack?

Yes, they are quite robust. I would guess 1000's of operations. They are specified at 45 amps, so should be ok.

battery and controller in a rucksack?

They are rated up to 45 amp (the 45a ones anyway!). I have never used them above 30 amps, so I can't really comment.

battery and controller in a rucksack?

45 amp? What battery are you using? Other options are available, but I have never had one fail. I must have used more than 100. I don't just use them on bikes. I've used them in all kinds of equipment: Drills, Radios, Test equipment, Marine electronics and more.

battery and controller in a rucksack?

I've done it. Controller on bike, battery in a small rucksack. Anderson powerpole connector at about crutch level, cable fixed to rucksack straps, up and over the shoulder and down the front The Anderson will disconnect if you have a spill, or forget to disconnect. There is a risk that you...

    New boy

Hi Ash, Welcome to the forum.

    Which Kudos?

You can get the ones that go at the front. When they get a bit bigger, you can get a saddle that fits on the top tube. You can also get rear seats that fit more like a standard rack. Never used one though. Personally, I really enjoyed riding with my boy on the front, as he was much more...

    Which Kudos?

I would guess the same as the Tornado.

    It has to be fast!

You will have to build it yourself if you want 30mph. Is that something you are confident with?
  14. Alan Quay

    Which Kudos?

Looks like you can have the Arriba with speed sensor and Hydraulic brakes for £1200. So Hydraulic brakes cost an extra £100. If you can afford it, it's worth considering.

    Which Kudos?

Roughly: Tornado: BPM, mechanical disk Typhoon: Big version of Tornado Arriba: Torque sensor tornado, hydraulic brakes. Escape: Big version of Arriba. Cobra: lower torque SWX type motor Eiger: Crank drive I agree with Trex, Tornado, although the better brakes on the Arriba make it a good upgrade.

    Rip off death trap?

Yes, I noticed that. It wouldn't last long enough to drain the (very small) battery off road.

    Rip off death trap?

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=121705125451&globalID=EBAY-GB&alt=web Key points: # Apollo frame. # Mechanical disks. # Mismatched brake levers. # 50mph # £3000! Someone's going to get hurt. It's one thing selling high powered kits and letting the user take their own chances...

    Vintage (style) conversion

hmm, not sure I'd want 900w in the front, regardless of the fork. But to answer the question, no, they are not all made equal. Mountain bike fork will probably be the strongest option. One of my bikes is a Trek Bruiser. Its an older DH mountain bike. The forks on it are rigid, and very strong...

    Vintage (style) conversion

Why not use another rigid fork? It'll look better, be stronger and lighter. If you want comfort, use balloon tyres. Unless you plan on off-roading, suspension is a waste of time. Cheap suspension is even worse. Roughly speaking: rigid fork = Steel Suspension fork = Ally (of course there are...
