    A few Bosch questions

The later Bosch display and remote switch will as far as I'm aware allow your system to have walk along, but I have to say it isn't that good, assist speed is too low for my liking and pressing the button constantly is hard work. Perhaps adding some larger sprockets would be a better solution...

    Possible Haibike purchase.

No you change at the exact points you need to, on racing bikes this is even possible now whilst honking out of the saddle, and with 22 gears to go at being in exactly the right gear is as good as it gets.

    New KTM hybrid

The comment came up in another thread, and I can't just find it, so I'm really in the wrong thread with this. Hopefully Col is reading and can try it out up here in the Pennines.

    New KTM hybrid

It would be great if Col at KTM could do a more definitive test, I know he first talked about commuting on the E-race, but I think the weather got the better of him. There was talk in that article about two very different riders if I remember correctly, and the fittest was on the Panasonic hub...

How long should my ebike chain last?

You've discovered the achilles heel of crank drive. I got about twice that distance from my wider hub chain. KMC seemed amazed by how many miles I'd done  I'm on a slightly narrower X1 now on their recommendation http://www.kmcchain.eu/products-single_speed-3_32_hi_performance Only...

    CANNONDALE, CUBE or KTM ?

Indeed, I'd say 'range from just 19 miles'

    CANNONDALE, CUBE or KTM ?

On looks alone the KTM does it for me, although the Cube looks neater just above the motor. I don't like Cannondales myself, and it has the older style motor. Not what you asked I realise, but that's how I'd choose from those three bikes.

Can anyone recommend a good bike for hill climbing and distance

A nice bike, certainly one at the top of my list if I was in the market for a new bike.

Alexei Sayle on electric bikes in the Telegraph

You could of course just use the edit button before it vanishes. Anyone know how long the edit option stays for?

    Gearing finally sorted

More than ever this highlights the need to try before you buy. Also goes to show the wide range of requirements of e-bike users.

    Gearing finally sorted

Ultra low. When I'm putting a lot of power in on my bike chasing segment times high power input and a nice cadence gives me less power, so I end up in 8th gear pushing a less than ideal low cadence, and that's on some uphill bits!

    Chain Slip

    Ah OK, I stand corrected.

    Chain Slip

You missed my point, which at the time I wasn't 100% sure about. Nexus is only used on hub gears from a quick internet search, so if you have a Nexus shifter designed for the Nexus 7 hub gear I'm fairly certain it doesn't work on a derailleur system.

    Chain Slip

Is that for a hub gear? or derailleur?
