E-bike with motors greater than 250w, speeds above 15mph and the UK police

My cutoff is set to 25 km/h but I spin out pedalling (downhill) at 48 km/h... My new top speed on this bike is 62 km/h and all is perfectly legal. You want acceleration? Get a BBS02 500 W or 750 W and a healthy battery, derestricted those will blow the doors off anything at the red light if you...

    Friction Drive comes of age

Please use the whole quote... "In regards to tire wear, this also has been discussed in detail. My current test bike has hit 5000km on the original road tire. This is due to using a smooth metal roller that works perfectly in dry conditions but doesn't work at all in wet conditions." My...

    Friction Drive comes of age

I know he is from Australia and that it doesn't rain often in some parts; in Melbourne for several years according to my sister who lives there. Friction drives don't work well in the wet. If they were a good idea they wouldn't have disappeared from the market and the companies that had invested...

    Friction Drive comes of age

We aren't criticizing his engineering or talent just the principle of rubbing even more rubber off a tyre than the road does in order to move forward. It works, I have ridden 100's of kilometres on a VeloSolex but it isn't efficient, in fuel consumption or in power delivered. On the VeloSolex...

Pas Sensor ring not turning anymore?

:) You might not need to go to such extremes. First is there enough space between the crank and the BB to prevent the PAS disk from rubbing? My issue and fix was that I didn't have enough room for the disk to turn freely so the disk wasn't gripping on the square. If there is enough room you...

Pas Sensor ring not turning anymore?

    1. PAS ring slipping, been there, fixed that (with the bottom of a coffee can) you have a narrow square BB I presume? 2. don't worry the LCD and the lights on the battery will never agree! You need a Watt meter/Volt meter to know the real voltage of the battery. 3. the throttle is set to EN...

    Friction Drive comes of age

Not to mention slippage in the dry and tyre wear in the wet... (ex velosolex rider experience) EDIT: Reading through the thread it doesn't seem that many posting lived in France in the 70's...

    Comfort handlebar mod

I have been playing with my bars, lifted them again and...? 20 km/h instead of 23 km/h, cost me 3 km/h! I'll wait for my trike to get back up to speed :D

    Brexit, for once some facts.

There is talk on this side of the water of a federation of France and Germany as the future EU "core". I am sure that Belgium and the Netherlands might want to be in the core as well. Just a couple of elections to get out of the way.

    Greenway Cross City

Unbolt, bolt in replacement. It will only ever fail if you stall it. All the other bits can be changed (bearings, controller, clutch...). Motors will be on the spares market when there are enough complete bikes sold.

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

169€ (sale price)?! For quarter that money I would prefer a second rear light wired up as a brake light. I only have these situations in town and often when maneuvering so a brake light coming on would probably ward off a few. On the open road the cars stay well clear for the most part...

Just When I Thought It Was Safe To Back Outside!!

I also own lanes but even that doesn't stop the stupidest trying to get past even to the point of getting up on the curb! I invited a "gentleman" to descend from his car when he used his horn a while back, he declined... Yesterday a "lady" almost touched my leg forcing her way through a small...

    SRAM eMTB specific drivetrain launched

I was not talking about e-bike/pedelec tyres in the above post. The EU label required for s-pedelec tyres means testing, if an existing tyre passed that test is proof of the excellent quality of Schwalbe tyres. Some Big Bens did, others did not.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

You forgot: money, lies, unethical behaviour, manipulation via social media, false truths, made up facts... And that the GOP has been fixing the electoral system for many years so that Democrats can't get elected easily.
