    40MPH at last!

I have done 40 mph downhill on my old bike, this one has more air resistance so tops out at about 38. My on the flat speed with an unrestricted GSM and 17 Amp controller is 27 mph (45 km/h). Can't wait to get my bum in a trike seat I have the feeling I'll be in the over 50 club from day one...

It is easy to justify if you live in Ireland - 1200€ delivery fee puts that bike at 2015.99€... Another reason to smuggle it in from Northern Ireland where shipping is only 5.99€

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I agree with you tilson (careful, that is more than three times now!) that the Conservative party was pro-EU for the simple reason that it is closest to big business and for big business the EU is a good thing. The UK's membership could have had value for the EU. But a lot of your MEPs spent...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Oh no, I was talking about the President of the Republic, the elected king under the 5th Republic. Or at least they carry on as if they were king...

    The extrawheel

Yep, I thought that was a goofy idea too. No, the idea is you are in the middle of the outback and you just use the extrawheel to ride to the nearest bike shop (500 km) with the broken wheel having hidden your panniers under a rock so the kangaroos don't eat them... :D

    Brexit, for once some facts.

The Dutch, Belgians, Danish, Spanish, Swedish and French all have kings and queens and the EU works fine for them. Luxembourg and a few others only have princes...

    The extrawheel

I had seen this before but today got into the detail a bit and several ideas came to mind. 1. this is safer than my trailer on the open road because it is the width of the bike with panniers 2. easier to navigate some of the cycle paths I use than my trailer 3. as one of my panniers is already...

Very interested in diy, easy e-bike upgrade and self build. (OAP)

That bike is now 303€ with the 20% govt e-bike subvention... sorry o_O Dump SLA and go for 36 V Li-Ion is going to be our answer. You may need to change the controller. With a trailer and a 12 kg dog you should be fine with a 36 V 13 Ah battery if it is flat in your part of France. The battery...

Out of curiosity what are shipping rates like from bike discount to NZ? Washing up liquid on the rim has always worked for me.

    Greenway Cross City

His riding style is similar to mine and the GSM is very similar to the Bafang (in energy consumption). How long are the hills? My hills are long enough that the LVC will shut the battery down after about 25 miles (40 km) on the hills and it will come back up over 35 V when stopped. I don't...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

France is not the US, you don't get to be president with a minority of voters... FN scores over recent years: EU elections 25% (proportional vote) Regional elections 27% (proportional vote) Last presidential election 18% in the first round (majority vote) Never over 6% in the Assembly in the...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Theresa May said: “The days of Britain making vast contributions to the European Union every year will end.” So will the days of getting vast amounts of money from the EU. Funny how that bit never gets mentioned anywhere.

Nice replacement controller - cheap too.

If you look on the ciclotek page it says 5 levels. They are matching it to a 15 Amp controller.
