Kalkhoff 2012 electric bikes at 50cycles

The 20% discount brings the cost of the 21kg ProConnect down to around the same price it was three years ago, on it's introduction, and it has almost twice the battery capacity plus increased power. A good time to buy if your in the market for a new bike IMHO.

    bosch batteries.

I wouldn't say it's getting hysterical Eddie. I think the Bosch powered bikes are excellent but theres no getting away from the fact that their battery's are way overpriced. I'm sure, like myself, most Panasonic powered owners will purchase the Kalkhoff 18A battery, when replacement is needed...

Wisper rear Bafang and front Dapu motors.....

Thanks Mussels and Eddie, I'd love to try it side by side with my PCS for a direct comparison. Unfortunately, where I live, I seem to be the only ebike rider. :(

Wisper rear Bafang and front Dapu motors.....

Quote; we are now introducing our own range of motors with internal ratchet clutch and no drag at all, Hi Andrew, please keep us updated on your new motors. As a keen cyclist, the one thing that has always put me off hub driven bikes is the motor drag, so it sounds like a great developement...

    e-Bike of the Year 2011

The Haibike EXDURO for it's ability to go anywhere. The componenents are all very good quality hence the high price.

    Fun Bikes x2

The Bike Tec looks ok to me. Would maybe get rid of the curved downtube and have a step through rear for practicality, but it looks sturdy to me. A classic Pashley style is more elegant but think they can be a bit more bendy too.

Thanks Flecc, Hadn't come across that when I did a search. Perfect.......apart from the price. :)

    Fun Bikes x2

Lovely bikes. I've been thinking of a tandem myself to try to get my wife out with me. I'm surprised that no manufacturers have produced one with the Panasonic motor which would seem ideally suited for a tandem.

    bosch bikes

Hi Eddie, 50cycles have the Pro-connect step through at £1900 weighing 21kg with the long range 18ah battery. I know that panasonic drive is not your favourite but remember it's for your wife and I bet she'd love it! :)

Near accident...who was in the wrong?

Quote ; (I was planning to take the same route the motorist took, but there was a lot of oncoming traffic and I didn't feel confident going into the middle of road where it forks off,) I have been in similar situations many times and sometimes you can feel a bit fearful taking the correct...

    Stopped by police

I've carried my children for short trips on my bikes for years, firstly using a child seat and now with them sitting on the back of my cargo bike (sometimes 2 at a time). On public roads traffic always gives me a wide berth and I've not had a single incident in 7 years. The roads where I live...

    eddieo and indalo banned?

I too hope that this is only temporary. Eddie can be a bit over reactive at times but he brought great deal of useful information to the site and was the main source of updates on the new Bosch system. As for Indalo, I cant recall any offensive posts unless they were PM'ing nasty stuff. Still...

    Trip to Chartham, Canterbury, Kent

Nice pictures. Fortunately this time of year still throws up the odd beautiful sunny day and providing your wrapped up well you can still have a great day out. Love the little Brompton. Must say the more I learn about these compact lightweight folders the more they appeal to me.

    Panasonic codes

Definitely worth checking the locking bracket first. both my 18ah battery and original battery have been totally secure without any additional strapping, even on some very rough tracks. 100 posts......Senior Member at last :D

    long brake cables

I just buy tandem cables for my xtra-cycle cargo bike. I don't think there much dearer and too long is better than too short. :) (crossed with Catsnapper's post)

    Panasonic 18 Ah battery?

For capacity per £ the Kalkhoff battery is on par with any of the main manufacturers. I think the "half a grand" price makes people gulp but if it proves as reliable and long lasting as my original Panasonic battery, I consider it good value.

Lost my virginity. Kalkhoff Image B27 BionX: month 0

Even though I was riding unpowered bikes before my electric, the first ride of a quality powered bike is a huge thrill. Take care and I hope you have many happy miles ahead.:)

Sourcing a Kalkhoff 18Ah Lithium Battery

I purchased one of these from the first batch available from 50cycles in May so hopefully it will be a long time before anyone notices any decline in the range. For me the increased range over the 10ah battery has been a revelation. Many of my rides are 30 miles+ so I no longer have to use the...

    131 Kilowatt Bike !!!!!!

I found the same thing and sold my Yamaha FZ600 this year because I found it too fast and didn't feel in full control when I opened it up. I replaced it with a buzzy (16000rpm red line) 4 cylinder Honda Hornet 250 which is an absolute joy to ride as I can fully use the performance without...

A weekend in the Black Mountains

Looks like a terrific ride Tim, thanks for posting the pictures. I love my PC-S but owning a bike that can tackle the toughest trails and take you just about anywhere is a very tempting prospect.
