    Stupid controller question..

I read all your technical posts d8veh: "Any Kunteng sine wave controller. PSWPower.com have 17 amp and 20 amp. BMSBattery.com have the S06s 15 amp, but only 36v. Their 48v S12S is about 25 amps (keeps changing), which is powerful, but it's big. They also have a 20amp 48v dolphin battery one...

    Interesting holiday idea?

My mate Benjy's one is well represented on that page. I like this one but apparently the trailer was badly made:

    Stupid controller question..

I have been scratching my head over the choice of controllers at BMSB, I want a 36/48 V controller I can use with a 12S battery and 17 Amps suits me fine. I think the S12S 25A sine wave controller looks just right if I set C5 (limit current value) to 04. That should give me 16.666 Amps maximum...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

No you don't you pay what is left after the Thatcher rebate. You sent Farage to represent you no one was ever going to listen to him.

    Which Kit?

All the cells are on this page: https://eu.nkon.nl/rechargeable/18650-size.html PF is smaller in capacity and in Amps than the 30Q but they are both good quality cells.

    Freewheel market research

I am waiting on a special low stack height 8 speed 11-32 DNP Epoch freewheel from Taiwan. This will allow motors such as my Mxus XF08 to drop into a standard 135 mm dropout without needing any stretching. This freewheel will use 2.6 mm spacers (instead of 3.1 mm) and so will require a 9 speed...

    Rclass ebike helmets

SWMBO went to visit her friend in the Netherlands last year and they were out cycling and spotted some other cyclists "Oh look, Germans!" her friend said, they were of course all wearing helmets... I think that they don't wear MB helmets in the US because as they don't have health coverage, it...

Turnigy Graphene, has anybody used them?

1C (10 Amps) and standard charge ("Lipo charge" in the Reaktor menu), I have only ever balance charged the Multistar 4S pack a couple of times. I charge to storage after use then top up to 4.15 V per cell before using.

Turnigy Graphene, has anybody used them?

I just can't stop liking Graphene! I just topped up all my packs to storage and Graphene is sooooo much faster and better balanced than Multistar it has to be seen to be believed! I would really like to get myself the welder from ES and get into making my own 18650 batteries but I think I will...

    Tiagra 4600 BB - BBS02...

42:30 will get you up most anything, I use an 11-32 7 speed cassette and have 42 and 32 chainrings. The 32 is for Navarra, they do hills that stall motors over there... 32:32 in assistance level 5 will climb ramps, scary ramps!

    Ubco Utility Bike

If it had been around 45 years ago I would have had one! Not convinced it can handle a full bale of hay like the Honda could.

Would compulsory insurance for all electric bikes put you off?

Yes that is reasonable. I pay 17.50€ for a 1500€ extension to my house insurance which covers my bike "anywhere".

    my First electric Recumbent Trike.

Doesn't she need a drivers license for that? :) Yes the twitchy bit is the direct steering. Your battery would be better lower and under the seat for weight centering. How do you find the Crazy Bobs?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Well... Some of the plants are going to have to close soon. Guess who is going to be paying for that? :( We'll see how it works out cost wise but I am not hugely optimistic. Maybe when they invent a plant that uses waste as fuel things will balance out. Energy factoid: did you know that Spain...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

And how long do you think you are going to manage living in the past (lovely song!) while the rest of Europe steams off into a cleaner, greener, brighter future? Do I remember a time when England had clever men inventing stuff and innovating or was that just a figment of my imagination? Must...

If it has a 250 W motor and PAS it would be a pedelec. In some countries 4 wheels are not allowed on a bicycle. For inspiration @Falney is suggest Utah Trikes who also make recumbent quads.
