Gradients, are we talking about the same thing?

Often here I read "20% hill" and think to myself that is bonkers so then looked it up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_(slope) OK so lets apply to the terrain. This is a tough hill to walk up. It is tough to ride up too because there is no run in possible so you have to start from a standing...

Looking for a tricycle to fit bbs02 kit to.

Why don't you get a cargo trike? Decent size wheels in the right place for stability, step through and a big box to carry stuff in.

    Wisper eMTB sneak preview

Wisper David I guess you have scrolled through the 2018 Haibike catalogue SW posted. They (the Germans) don't go overboard trying to be different in the trekking/urban.city range. Dump the silly curves, have a high bar for those who must lift their leg to show they still can if you must, but...

Spin or use higher power setting

https://www.sheldonbrown.com/nexus-mech.html#sprockets They aren't very expensive so maybe you could buy a couple of different sizes to see which one you like the most.

    Silly mistake bought a 36v bbs01 and a 48v battery

Sounds like a plan. As you are in BC Luna are the people to go to for a quality 36 V battery. https://lunacycle.com/36v-panasonic-shark-pack-17-5ah-ga/

    Silly mistake bought a 36v bbs01 and a 48v battery

https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/687-inner-controller-for-bbs01-02-central-motor-ebike-kit.html#/385-voltage_power-48v350w It says "old version" if you have the newer B version of the controller, the one with better mosfets, it won't fit. You want the 48V350W version which has an RPM of around...

    Silly mistake bought a 36v bbs01 and a 48v battery

They do. You could order a 48 V controller I guess. I don't know if anything else differs between the two versions. RPM goes from 83 to 87 with the Bafang 48 V controller.

    Panasonic

Epoxy might be a safer bet than superglue. In theory it will get harder the more heat you put into it (within reason). But well done!

    Silly mistake bought a 36v bbs01 and a 48v battery

The only way to run that BBS01 with a 48 V battery is to disconnect the internal controller and use an external 48 V one but the pedals will spin 33% faster... I am very impressed that the controller has an over voltage safeguard and didn't just go pop with a whiff of smoke.

Sell it or exchange the battery for a 36 V one.

Nope. The capacitor is only 50V

    Battery location

In the pannier I use plastic washing powder boxes to protect them when only using 2. Huge is the word but it holds everything, even an emergency charger. Those cases exist in smaller versions. I picked it because it was the exact size of the pannier.

LEVA-EU (no not another brexit thread )

The AVEM isn't a member? Isn't linked to? And yet it has been around since 1998... http://www.avem.fr/ They have more interest in my eye because they cover the whole spectrum of clean transport from the pedelec to trucks. Light Electric Vehicles are already in a ghetto, LEVA will keep them...

    Battery location

This goes in a 9.95€ pannier from Decathlon. I have already broken one pannier. At the moment there is 20 Ah of LiPo in the case which makes it a bit heavy. New in frame battery box will be built soon which will hold either 10 Ah LiPo or a 9 Ah 18650 Vruzend kit battery.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

What does "stay in the EU but reduce it's powers" mean? No more subventions for UK farmers? I am not feeling the "powers" of the EU, must be protected from them with my tinfoil hat. I now have the "power" to cross a national border and buy stuff with the same money I use at home. And...
