None of these figures can be relied on . There should be a disclaimer like the one on the MOT Certificate.
we all have our own view on brexit but the reasearch data is usueful to distinguish between likelihood that what we think is going to happen and just a confirmation bias.

The problem is that we have no means of knowing how valid these results are do we? or even whether they will remain so.
The propaganda war that inflamed the figures had a setback at the last GE and could easily be derailed by events, remember these attitudes are not based on FACTS but on FEELINGS.
Nevertheless the Prognosis is unchanged, Brexit is inevitable and inevitably will be disastrous socially, and in all probabilty Financially as well.
Ten years of Suffering is my forecast before a fresh start.

What does "stay in the EU but reduce it's powers" mean? No more subventions for UK farmers?

I am not feeling the "powers" of the EU, must be protected from them with my tinfoil hat. I now have the "power" to cross a national border and buy stuff with the same money I use at home. And as a migrant who has been here for a while can now have a resident card which lets me live on either side of that national border if I so choose. Before I had to show my passport, and worse! In theory as a NZ citizen I used to need a visa for Spain - many times I crossed the frontier as a clandestine - don't tell my mum...

about as useful as may's 20% poll lead before the previous election. British politics has become a sight to contrived and manipulated (not that it works). I'm afraid I'm with biowrite and his blog

the dieheard brexit voters count only for 35% of voters, but there are even fewer diehard remainers, only 25%.
Either way, it is not the choice of the majority.
Soft brexit is the only way.
How on earth do you know that ? Which opinion poll ?

"EU agencies are distinct bodies from the EU institutions – separate legal entities set up to perform specific tasks under EU law."

Both UK decentralised agencies hold the leases, not the EU, they are solely responsible for them.

EMA - 25 year lease with no break clause, funded 90% by commercial fees with 5% contribution from the EU and no member state contributions.

EBA - 12year lease with mid term break clause, funded 40% by the EU and 60% by the member state (shared in proportion of voting rights)

If Barnier was clever he could try again to introduce his failed EU consulates regulation - apply it to both buildings obtain ECJ jurisdiction within the building leaving them in place and saving the agencies a whole pile of money - of course that wont happen:rolleyes:
If Barnier were clever!!! He is clever, certainly clever enough not to go down a path such as you are suggesting. Post Brexit, the UK will have an abundance of EU consulates, since the embassies of each EU member state is defacto an EU consulates. What possible service to the EU would result in creating more and within what is a medium sized country?
Anyway it would not be within his power to so do. He has been tasked with representing the views of the remaining EU states, try to formulate these into a coherent policy and discuss these with the UK representatives. Afterwards he will be expected to report on these to the EU parliment, who will ratify them.
To date he is flustrated because of the incoherence of a UK position on anything.
That the UK position is incoherent is understandable, but basically unacceptable.

Clandestine is an interesting word: Clan and destiny, togetherness and hope of a bright new future...

My family name is on the bottle of a very bad whisky as well as some better ones.

Not sure whether it was a typo but that word 'flustated' is brilliant a combination of flustered and unstated, says a lot about the UK governments current position and Barnier's attitude to it.

The government has another 'Baldrick' bright idea....give preference to young EU workers post Brexit. Ok I can see that under 30 year old immigrants are less likely to get ill and drain the NHS,they are also likely to be fit to work on the farms and in the NHS....but they are also the age to have kids, kids need midwives and go to school, wasn't one of the criticism by Brexiters that immigrants place pressure on school places???
Surely we should control immigration to those that have work here, irrespective of age.
Usual arrogant government attitude ,it assumes EU people are desperate to come to the UK,the £ doesn't buy many Euros these days and likely to get weaker.....their own countries are getting stronger,Poland is in a building boom at the moment....we may have to give them some goodies to attract them.
KudosDave

REVEALED: UK will pay NO MORE than £36billion in Brexit divorce bill, officials declare
THE UK will pay no more than £36billion to the EU in order to settle the Brexit divorce bill, sources have revealed.
A senior Whitehall source told The Telegraph: “The 27 say they can’t knock off the bits of their ‘bill’ until the very end - but politically we can’t move on money until the 27 member states start to show compromise.
Very droll that last line!
