I asked them for an e-bike category when I first started using Strava, they did say it was something they'd consider. Hopefully they'll tell me how slow I was to realise they'd created the category.

I was in no way suggesting a 30 mph assist speed, merely making an observation about the speed I'd need to hit that magic 15.6 mph speed. Oh and I do ride with two kids who are well under 14 years old, who both hit over 30 mph on their bikes. Those two were part of the team that won the area...

I crunched some of my stats, a double assist speed upped my average speed by a bit under 4 mph. So now I'm on normal assist speed my average speed has dropped from 16.3 mph to 12.4 mph. So an assist speed of around 30 mph (roughly) would see me matching that 15.6 mph average. So much for this...

Just because the maximum assist speed happens to be equal to the average Strava users average speed doesn't really mean much. For that 15,6 mph average their on the flat average speed will be above 20 mph for a lot of the time. Now if you could pull the data from the average e-bike rider I'd be...

She had Fairy bike once. I did forget to omit that she's a bit handy on a bike, and when her gears aren't restricted for racing she has some respectfully big gears.

That would only apply to a suspension bike, with a hub motor replacing a normal hub.

28 mph on a racing bike is standard fare, so 28 mph on an assisted bike isn't much different. 28 mph without pedalling is a moped though.

Without being there to witness the full picture it would be difficult to comment. My bike has never shown any signs of stopping in the way you describe.

Instead of keep tagging houses onto existing towns and villages I wish they'd build more new towns, with improvements from previous attempts,
