Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

Remember the average speed required is now only 17.5 mph. with just 1000 feet I consider that to be a pretty flat ride. A bike with an assist speed of say 25 mph minimum should see the ride done comfortably.

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

20 miles = 20 mph average speed. also stick the route in Strava so we can see the elevation involved, miss the start and end off to remain anonymous if you're bothered. https://www.strava.com/routes Is Kudos really offering to sell an S-pedelec

Bosch made the VW emission cheating dongle.

How are they on the service department front? that's where they all seem to fall down on. I'm glad I'm no longer putting myself at their mercy.

    Encounter with Police????

Horse riders are treated with great respect by motorists, probably because an out of control horse can do some serious damage to your car. Car drivers display a great deal of patience, sometimes waiting a few minutes when encountering a horse. Sadly they can't spare even a few seconds of being...

Bosch made the VW emission cheating dongle.

I did just hear something about a diesel car scrappage scheme on the BBC news. Bonkers, the last one was bad enough.

Bosch made the VW emission cheating dongle.

I have a feeling the tuning companies may be busy once all these cars are turned down to super low emissions specification, with some owners missing the performance and driveability of the full fat version. If I owned one I certainly wouldn't want to take it in. Chip tuning heaven.

Bosch made the VW emission cheating dongle.

I see that Autocar car are reporting that the device VW used to cheat the emissions was made by Bosch. The newspaper is also reporting that it has seen a letter in which VW supplier Bosch warned the VW Group in 2007 that the software was illegal for road use, and highlighting that it was only...

No good for someone who wants hub gears though. My weedy classic bosch bike set for the nexus 8 rear hub gets me up any hill even on half power, full power feels incredible after riding the bike on half power for a while. I wouldn't be too concerned about putting the Rholf hub into your bike...

    Oxydrive ride recorded on Strava.

If you'd asked support to do the change on mass for you they would have.

    Juicy problem

Perhaps you're right. My bike didn't have any other way of turning the power on and off, only the switch on the battery.

    Kalkhoff Integrale 8

I obviously can't answer your question. Just wanted to point out that all these 250w rated motors give around 600w so I hear.

    Kalkhoff Integrale 8

Very nice. I assume the drive belt won't need adjusting in the way a chain does?

    Juicy problem

My Cyclamatic had what must be the same housing, as you say the red button switches the motor system on and off. So yours is exactly as it should be.

Looking for new fast ebike. So many choices!

If they wanted a motorcycle I'm sure that is what they would buy. Buyers want a bicycle that doesn't hinder them. Standard e-bikes are great for going up and down hills, but compromised elsewhere, for some people. A faster e-bike has all the hill climbing benefits of a standard e-bike, and none...

    NEC Cycle Show,24-27 september

Given that crank drive e-bikes are very heavy on chains and that small front chain ring I'd take this solution any day. To my eyes it looks much better than the way KTM do it.

    Bosch Dongle Options

If it was a speed sensor issue the speedo would read zero, so I doubt that is anything to do with it.

Trying to get away from dongles....batteries

Now there's a question. Computer dongles were first I think. Was it Martin that first called the gadget dongle I wonder?
