    Climb Everest in one day

One of our local riders did a charity ride yesterday on a local hill to climb the height of Everest, he had to climb Snake Pass 27 times to achieve it ! I guess he might be a bit stiff this morning. http://app.strava.com/activities/188140924

I have to say I'd be concerned for the bike.

Test of pedelec vs road bike for long commute

Standard e-bikes work for people like yourself. The lycra cyclists would be slower in almost all situations on an e-bike. A major factor in why they will never be popular with already fit cyclists.

Fat Guy Needs a Folding Conversion on Train Commute!

Also check the weight limit on the folding bike. A lot if not all have a recommended weight limit. My Dahon folder has a 105 kg limit. http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/130657/

Test of pedelec vs road bike for long commute

All interesting and very useful information for those considering an e-bike. My bike with no speed restriction in Eco mode more or less matches what I can do on a medium weight racing bike over a 10 mile circuit. However when speed restricted and in Turbo mode it's about 2 to 3 minutes slower...

    New (ish) Bosch display

I can't help on the figures, all I know is that it varies a lot depending on what the bike has done beforehand. I've ridden my bike in Eco and it is more or less the same as my heavy ish racer on speed with my non speed restricted ebike. Impressive range that's for sure, impossible to get...

Test of pedelec vs road bike for long commute

Exactly as expected. With the right tweaks to the right bike your commute would be a joy to do every day of the week. The standard limit soon went out of the window I see ;)

Anyone had an interesting ride recently ?

Blimey that was fancy pdarnett. not much pedalling going on, on a lot of those clips.

    Cream - crackered :-)

It's a long way from home, that's for sure. If you could teleport me there on a day with favourable conditions I believe I could do it. On some of the climbs in Yorkshire that the Tour riders rode, I can beat their times quite easily. Of course I realise they're not a 12 mile 5,000 feet climb...

    Cream - crackered :-)

One or two people have had a go at the climb, quite sure I could do it in under 57 minutes, with a battery change along the way. http://app.strava.com/segments/4635133

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

It sounds like an MTB would perhaps be more suitable, with the motor help making up for the extra drag of the MTB tyres. How much climbing in feet does the journey consist of?

    Hi....in need of KTM advice....

As Rob points out the only way you'll do the full 36 miles is on no more than half power, that almost defeats the point of an e-bike. So factor in the cost of an additional charger to leave at work so you can charge the battery ready for the journey home.

Even more perplexing when you take account of the credit payment from the manufacturer for any warranty work done.

    Bosch bearings

Well if that is the case I must apologise for my negative comments about KTM Col. I was speaking as a KTM owner who at the time of my comments was faced with a big bill for a new motor, of course I am appreciative of the offer of a motor at cost price. I was not aware of the other gestures you...

How many miles have you done on your Bosch powered bike?

I'd like to think Bosch have learnt a few lessons with their first version, and have incorporated improvements in the mark two version to overcome the faults in the first one that have come to light.
