How many miles have you done on your Bosch powered bike?

Possibly a much more important question is "How many feet have you climbed on your Bosch ? " climbing puts far more stress on the bearing. I've done about 250,000 feet of climbing on mine. edit, actually it's getting closer to 300,000 feet after studying my figures.

    Bosch bearings

No chance. As Wissy says we still don't know anything about out of warranty Bosch repairs. Does anyone out there know the cost of returning an out of warranty faulty Bosch motor to Bosch for repair? the only option given that they won't sell you spares for the internal workings. I will also...

    Bosch bearings

I would imagine that the wear rate would actually be worse on a standard unit. The lateral loading from the high pedal input above the cut out speed would be much more detrimental than that from the motor. It was only when the battery went flat that I noticed the play, when soft pedalling with...

Exactly what I was thinking, just two new cartridge bearings, I hope.

    Bosch bearings

Those were my thoughts too. I also have my eye on the future for when the bearings fail again in a another year's time, when the motor is out of warranty as Wissy points out.

    Bosch bearings

Wissy I think the play is in the part similar to the one below, that is housed in the motor, but I'm not sure if this is or isn't covered under warranty, and I'm not sure if Bosch actually sell the parts to service the unit at home or even at the dealers.

    Bosch bearings

The bottom bracket on my Bosch motor has developed a lot of play on the drive side. Are these user or dealer serviceable? or is the only option available having to send it back to Bosch for repair? I understand that a bottom bracket on a normal bicycle is not covered by a warranty, worn...

50 Mile round trip commute, feasible or not?

I imagine I could do each way in a little over an hour with two 400 wh's of battery consumed for the trip to and from work. Certainly if I were healthy I'd undertake the commute for most of the year, the car would be on standby though. I couldn't face doing it if it took double the time though...

50 Mile round trip commute, feasible or not?

When I was recommending a petrol motorcycle I was thinking why am I not recommending an electric scooter, this article reminds me why. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motorcycle_manufacturers/bmw/10915636/BMW-C-evolution-electric-scooter-review.html

50 Mile round trip commute, feasible or not?

Probably best if I don't mention that some 2-stroke scooters can be derestricted too. Although most may be 4-stroke these days, it's been a while since I looked.

50 Mile round trip commute, feasible or not?

More likely 120 mpg with the right bike. Honda CBF125 would be my choice for saving money on this 50 mile commute.

50 Mile round trip commute, feasible or not?

If you can bring yourself to ease off and ride below the cut-off, it'll be easy, but you'll probably find yourself working really hard just above the cut-off, frustrated by it and feeling held back.

50 Mile round trip commute, feasible or not?

Unbalanced in that we have no forum members who have dismissed e-bikes as being too slow for their needs perhaps.

Ebike fast up on Mont Ventoux.

Thanks, I watched the start where he mentioned the 55 minutes, but didn't watch much more. I'd be rude not to pinch that record one day.

    Woosh Santana CDL

Cheers. My Bosch gets some real hammer at times, but never seems to suffer any overheating effects. I just get a reduction in power when the battery is about 85% depleted.

How do you know it's overheating and what effect do you experience?
