    new regulations

    thats not the problem.. problem can be when an accident happens.. (a serious one) they will investigate all remains of your bike and when they then notice that your bike was too strong, you were not driving a bike but a motorized vehicle without licence... and then it can become very...

    isn´t it possible to upgrade the transmission ? i mean: there are motorbikes with chains and 200hp+ so: chaintechnologie is able to handle great powers.. of course a motorcycle-chain would be a little TOO heavy and big ;) but: there are tandems.. maybe they use stronger equidment ...

    hmm.. lets say 450Watt Crystalite direct drive, mounted in the wheel... on a steep hill or a heavy bike or trailer or low speed - in this situations it will be way of this 450Watt so: when you wana use such a motor through the bikes gears and not direct drive.. maybe 450Watt are not...

    of course.. i just thought about it, when i heard, that the new nano is only 76mm... so it would be slim enough that it does not disturbe the knees when pedaling have you ever tried a 26" folding bike? there are some, but it seem,that you always have to remove the front wheel.. just...

    ah.. i like that bike of yours.. even in the small 20" rim the motor looks tiny.. very nice.. for he smaller Nano with 76mm and only 2kg weight iam still faszinated from this kind of design: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/download/file.php?id=7759 hub-motor, but driven through...

    Best Motor/Battery for a Dahon Folder?

    Best Motor/Battery for a Dahon Folder?

    yes, 4kg are still ok ;) question is, if you realy need 36V and 10Ah (~4kg of safe Lithium Mangancells) in an 20" folder ;) thats some serious km able to drive with that amount of energie maybe half the capacity is still enough, so why carry more dead weight (into Subway, ...) with you...

    Anyone offroading on an electric MTB?

    i don´t like the possition of where the batteries are mounted.. it would be cooler (better cg) when the batts are mounted in the frame (there is enough space) that would balance the bike better so maybe kind of that...

    Could an electric bike pay for itself?

    sounds reasonable to me too... (20km a day --> a 36V 6Ah battery should be enough) 36A * 6Ah = 216Wh charger and battery-efficience at charging: 75% ==> 288Wh needed for charging 216Wh 1000Wh costs 17 Euro-cent ==> charging the battery one time costs 4.8 euro-cent so for 365days with...

    Could an electric bike pay for itself?

    hmm.. if you can work with an soldering-iron i would think about A123 Fepo4 a by yourself soldered Fepo4-pack with 33V 6.9Ah costs (with shipping of Dewalt packs from the US) ~300 Euro (3 Dewalt-packs needed) on the very gentle use in an e-bike i would say that you can count with at...

    Could an electric bike pay for itself?

    any thoughts? hmm... lets assume you don´t buy the bike and go with car for further 92 weeks to get the same training effect you would have got on the bike driving it 3 times a week you will have to go once a week to a fitness-center.. lets say: one unit in the fitness-center -> 10 euros...
