Prices of the electricity we use to charge

That's complete lies. The temperature isn't any higher than when I was a kid. If anything, it's colder. 0.6 C per decade would be 2.4 deg in my lifetime, and that would be noticeable. There are two reasons for the recorded temperature increase. One is that the measurement devices are now nearer...

    For Sale Bargains

No it wasn't an engine rebuild, it was a basic service of gears and brakes. It needed a shock service (recommended every 50 hrs!!!!). Fork seal replacement (every 50 hrs!!!), new dropper cable (probably unnecessary), new gear cables (probably unnecessary), £300 labour = £406.91 +VAT. This was...

£245 Argos Folder Improvements - complete story

It won't be any different to any other ebike battery. They all get tired eventually, that's if they don't get other problems, like balance issue, leaking cell, wire broken, etc. Torque is more or less directly proportional to current, so going from 8A to 12A gives a 50% increase in torque. It's...

    Thumb throttle not working

If you have those connectors, you can see the colours of the wires. Does it go red to red, black to black and white to green?

Melted cables at the control unit

It's not that common for battery wires to melt. It's normally the motor phase wires that melt. It looks to me like it's gone over the 17A (possible short circuit). Why did you do a routine inspection? Was there a problem? Is it working OK now?

    Thumb throttle not working

Just because it has the same connector, it doesn't mean it's wired the same way. Does the throttle listing show the pinouts?

    Yose Power C500 advanced setting

It won't do any harm. I always used to run 15A controllers at 17A or 18A. Look up all my posts on shunt soldering. I took my 12A cyclamatic one to 16.5A and it was fine like that, then I increased the voltage by 50% and the current to 17A. It was still fine like that.

Yose Power Hub- need a new rim!

You guys always make things so difficult and expensive. I've never used any rims other than the cheapest ones I can find on Ebay and Amazon. I have never had a single issue with any of them - no corrosion, no spokes coming loose, no denting , no cracking, no truing necessary. That's building...

£245 Argos Folder Improvements - complete story

The heat in the battery is caused by the resistance of the cells and the current flowing through them. P=IxIxR. According to Ohms law, the voltage sag V=IxR. The resistance goes up when the battery cannot provide the current, so you can see straight away from the amount of sag whether there's a...

    Comfortable saddle for long distance?

It is the best saddle in the world. It's a Brooks B67 sprung saddle. I've been using it for about 10,000 mile. It's been pretty good. but it doesn't have the scoop in the middle that I now need. Brooks have "carved" saddles in their range, but the scoops don't look big enough to me. I'll see how...
