BBS 1 Cutting out, any ideas?

Might be worth buying a programming cable and tweaking the controller settings a bit. The 'Keep Current' parameter set too low, may be one of the reasons for the lack of assistance at higher motor rpm.

Bafang BBS02 – Intermittent Cut Out

Lol. Even though you are seeing the speed sensor showing a red light, make sure the magnet is not too far from the sensor, or at an angle.

Bafang BBS02 – Intermittent Cut Out

Unplug both brake cut-offs and see if problem persists. Be careful when testing though!

Complete eBike kit just 3.6kg weight and price £225? Surely not...

I wasn't knocking the product, which looks to be very well thought out, just the companies that promise so much but don't deliver. Hopefully they achieve all the goals set out in the list on the website, and it becomes a raging success.

BBS 1 Cutting out, any ideas?

Although these things always involve logical detective work to find a solution, the reason why I mentioned the speed sensor, was that I had something similar happen when I first built my BBS02. I had no error codes, but a slight erratic behavior at speed. I think that the sensor wasn't clocking...

BBS 1 Cutting out, any ideas?

First thing I would check, is that the speed sensor magnet it as close to the receiver as possible, but without touching.

Tip for touching up bike scratches!

I used to do the same, but figured paint would be more resistant to weathering off.

Tip for touching up bike scratches!

My bike is a fairly cheap one, so it can get the odd scratch or two from general use, or just by adjusting equipment on the handlebars. The solution? I use a paint marker to touch up damaged areas, keeping rust at bay and the bike cosmetically looking good. Pentel Permanent Cellulose Paint...

    Battery Lead Connector - Confused

Well spotted Dave, I assumed it was a BBS02. Eyes still bleary at this time in the morning lol.

    Battery Lead Connector - Confused

My guess, and it is only a guess, is that the extra wires are for connecting a gear sensor. The Bafang should power up just connecting the positive and negative.

    The importance of good connections!

If you've got shaky hands, I find a clamping jig helps. I use one of these.

    The importance of good connections!

Andersons can be troublesome if not assembled correctly. I had bother until I learnt how to do it right. Be sure to read up about it and watch YouTube videos, before you attempt it.

    Battery 'seasoning'?

I personally don't worry about it, I just ride then recharge. Most electric bike batteries contain a BMS, so no worries about overcharging or discharging to damaging levels.

I think the solution is to go back to steam. Choo choo.....

Cyclist hospitalised after riding across live rail

I was thinking more of the cost of the circuitry to perform the switching, whether that be some kind of relay array etc.. As I say, I really don't know how they would perform selected track switching. Anyone???
