samsung 29e vs 30q eclipse 36v batteries advise

100% go for the Samsung 30Q pack. I've had two battery packs from Eclipse, one with 29E's, the latest with 30Q's. The 30Q pack has performed way better than the 29E pack ever did, at the same points on the timeline. Bottom line, the 30Q is a superior cell and worth waiting to get back in stock.

Yes, it's covered in white silicone same place as the bullet connectors.

My Bafang mid drive reliability problem

If it does happen randomly, then it's probably not the LVC. If it's around the same mileage each time on a similar route, then possibly. Any time you have issues with a BBSxx, it's a good idea to disconnect any brake cut-offs and throttle, then take it for a test ride. Bear in mind that without...

My Bafang mid drive reliability problem

The only time I had this kind of symptom, was when the controller LVC kicked in. It was doing this way before the battery should have run out, so I reprogrammed the controller LVC lower. That way I could get the best mileage out of the battery. The controller LVC still operates before the...

    Bafang BBSxx throttle 'Mode' settings?

I noticed, whilst tweaking my controller PAS settings, that the software 'Throttle Handle' page has the option to change the 'Mode' between 'Speed' and 'Current'. I don't actually use a throttle on mine, but am wondering if anyone has actually tested the bike's performance between these two...

    Over volting BBS02

If it were me, I'd go with the 44T. BBSxx's are happiest when the motor is spinning fast, so the 44T will put the least stress on the internals. The 44T will still get you to 30mph with an 11T cog on the cassette and 26" wheel. If you find that the stock Bafang chainring gives you chainline...

    Over volting BBS02

You can reprogram the BBSxx series of controllers. Unless already tweaked for performance, they usually come factory set for eco usage. A programming cable can unlock extra torque and speed.

    Over volting BBS02

I think you'll end up getting an over voltage error on the display. What are you after, more torque, more speed or both?

    Blown valve?

I think the valves just screw in, so if it wasn't tight in the first place, vibration could have caused it to loosen.

    Schwalbe Marathon Plus

In the wet, I tend to change my braking style, from predominantly front braking to rear. I'd rather the bike fish tailed, than completely let go at the front. Yeah, MP's can induce twitchy starfish syndrome in the wet

Shrink wrap for Bafang BBSHD cables

Heat shrink is great on areas that suffer from flexing or chafing, but I learnt the hard way, that it's not particularly good at waterproofing connections or cables. My battery dock cable is soldered directly to the controller power cable, protected, or so I thought, by a piece of heat shrink...

Are we becoming a nanny state?

Interestingly, I used to go to Glyn school, mentioned in the comments, which implemented these rules earlier in the year. Used to cycle there nearly every day, with not a peep of an issue with road safety, or negative impact on the environment. Admittedly that was early 80's though :D

    Chainring offset options for BBS02B

I currently have a 42T Bling Ring on a BBS02 and the offset is about 5mm towards the bottom bracket. I previously had an Alcedo Italia 42T chainring, which had around the same offset. I cannot run a regular Bafang chainring with my 8 speed cassette, as it renders the two lowest gears unusable...
