    Death of the derailleur?

I would agree. Except id worry that's simply to much going on in one place. A thing goes wrong = nightmare to fix.

Not so new kid on the block!

Car companies and the odd bike have a habit of briefly rebadging something else. I wonder if that's a bafang drive under there

    Recommend me some nice gloves

As a year round commuter of over a decade regardless of weather..... Yes, get these. I have had aldi versions but I think these are better quality. Oddly they are not as warm as their retro reflective version. Both come up very small. Order bigger than you think by a fair chunk Personally I...

    Sprung Saddle

I thought the same... All those tiny joints /fault points seem cheap to me and fundamentally flawed anyways! But I am no engineer so just a gut feeling tbh. Very keen to see what you make of it VFR!

second conversion - treking bike: rear hub, octalink, hydraulics

I had octalink and a shaft drive combo to deal with! Woosh supplied a drilled out pas ring and with the aforementioned sugru the job was done :)

Does what I want even exist?

The tensioner I have is this one https://m.bikester.co.uk/shimano-alfine-ct-s500-chain-tensioner-chain-device-silver-372020.html And previously used and then ditched the singulator style https://m.bikester.co.uk/shimano-alfine-ct-s510-chain-device-black-silver-474018.html

Does what I want even exist?

I actually find alfine far less hassle with a tensioner and vertical dropouts (my current frame) over my previous (horizontal) as I'm not forever re tensioning it. The alfine sprung tensioner (as opposed to a singulator style) also helps with chain line on a mid drive conversion But, point...

You could convert a suitable derailleur bike to nexus 8 for under a100. Hub is 55 at planet x now https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HUSHNEXSG/shimano-nexus-sg-c6010-8r--8-speed-hub-32h

    Bosch CEO's prediction

I always assumed it to be a control thing akin to, say, apple. Oem only, dedicated frames, fully closed system. Release a hub and a one can take it and stick it in any frame (OK, that's a bit flippant but you get my drift)

folding 250w small ebike 4200mah lcd computer wont turn on since last charged it.

Hi and welcome Could be a number of things. Only way to be sure is to test things in a logical order You will need a multimeter. Do you have one? If not then buy or borrow. First thing is to test the battery after it has been charged. It should read 42v or near to it

    Conversion kits and battery

VFR has answered in detail but on a higher level...no, a geared motor doesn't replace actual gears. What it does, in real terms, is reduce your demand on your battery and give you a free wheel ability ie no or little drag when pedaling without power.
