    Battery care and safety

I cant add much to what's been said already I charge indoors but only when present and about 2 foot from a smoke/fire alarm This includes home built battery packa which I assume to be less safe although i build the same with bms and kapton tape before heat shrink Though, on occasion, I...

UK petition to raise cut-off limit

Its matter of time before that happens. Just matter of statistics as more and more illegal ebikes bikes hit the road every year However, I still think you are bang on correct. The fact that a girl died on an e scooter (not the vespa type but the electric kick scooter type).....and precisely...

Stolen from Hanley Stoke on Trent

Sorry to hear this Like my bike it's been built from the ground up Is it a p.o.g steel raw steel frame? It is likely to get stripped for parts and they're not too many of them about

    Throttle to controller connection issue

I've had two but keep burning through tips and ca t find replacements And they are super useful for ebike repairs without messing about with extension cords. At one point my bike was so unreliable and complicated I had the iron and a multimeter in my on road toolkit !

    Throttle to controller connection issue

I always chop these style of connector off and solder directly. They are unreliable I find in daily use in the uk. If you can't solder , I agree with anon4 , useful skill and not that hard with mimunim outlay. For under 20 quid you can get a half decent soldering iron and solder. Plus you tube...

    Spare spokes

That is expensive. I got charged 20 gbp for 2 spokes and a wheel true But the labour isn't too different. But if they keep breaking I'd worry the wheel is not true. And the bike shop may be a bit rubbish and replaced a spoke without a wheel true Wheel building is a bit of an art. Many...

    Spare spokes

I think you probably need to be a lot more specific Motor hub sizes vary so spoke length varies accordingly . Best to measure but I'm not good at this stuff. Others or google can advise better on how/where to measure What bike you got? Have you asked the dealer? Or a Chinese internet job ?

Just ordered Bafang BBS01 350w kit, what else do I need?

Gear sensor on a 250 not really needed 500w I'd say yes, worth it 350w - I manage without one But it is quite nice to ride with one at any power level. Define "needed". The wife and I often disagree over how many bikes or parts are needed. Likewise on smelly beauty products :)

    BBS02 creaking

Ok. Sorry to resurrect but I am now 100% clear in my mind on the issue It was the crank arms massive q factor. I bought a brand new set of cranks. Same q factor. Fit them with a torque spanner and creak is same. So not worn cranks Fit the original bbs arms and it vanishes The only...

    Sqeaking brakes

I agree on your different uses argument but only up to a point What's reliable enough mean? I bought a hybrid , city style, sedate commuter . So 700c wheels but pretty narrow. It was, well ok. Until I converted to electric. The extra weight alone made hydraulic discs an essential upgrade ...

Extremist view there Wicky Just not peronally a fan of extreme right , left , up or down.....if used as excuse to incite a casual right to hate. Didn't see this as political especially Just idiotic and unhelpful !
