IIRC, the Bafang axle housing that slides into the BB is coated in a layer of paint. Do you think sanding that layer off, might give you some extra clearance?

Running 'Keep Current' at 100%, shouldn't create any problems. You'll probably notice the bike climbs hills better, at the expense of slightly reduced total miles per battery charge.

Just buy a new controller. It'll solve any uncertainty that the issue is the controller. If it turns out to be a problem other than the controller, at least you'll have a spare one for the future. BTW, changing out MOSFETs on these are a PITA :oops:
