What is everyone's opinion on this set up?

You can stay legal by going for a BBS01 250w instead. There are certain tweaks that can be done with a programming cable, that will improve hill climbing whilst keeping it legal. See link below for cable reference, plus other additions that can make the BBSxx series nicer to ride...

Chainsuck and one way to solve the problem

Had the joy  of getting to test this device yesterday, whilst totally underestimating how utterly muddy the local tracks were. The bike was caked in thick, grinding paste type mud. Whereas before, I would have certainly had to limp home with chainsuck issues, the bike ran on with no...

As long as it has decent branded cells, then it'll be good for going long distances and should have a long lifespan.

    Where are the Batteries UK

I would say just stick with a major brand, LG, Panasonic, Sanyo, Samsung or Sony. Read the specs of the particular cells used in the battery and make sure that the parallel group exceeds the maximum current you are likely to draw. E.g. a controller rated at 30 amp maximum, will require a...

    Where are the Batteries UK

https://eclipsebikes.com/lithium-ion-c-1_8/ I've bought two batteries from them before. They are slow to reply to emails, but apart from that, are a well established and reliable vendor.

Chainsuck and one way to solve the problem

I would guess that the majority of forum members may not even know what chainsuck is, or ever experienced this annoying phenomenon. Here is a link to explain what it is and the reasons why chainsuck may occur: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/workbench-how-to-un-suck-your-chainsuck.1169608/ For...

This is the programming cable that forum members have purchased and recommended. 40T Chainring from Precialps

Yeah, maybe it's just me, but the Lekkie Bling Ring appears to be lasting longer, although I have no concrete evidence to support my statement.

    40T Chainring from Precialps

I think the 40T is really pushing the limit on how small you can go and still achieve an offset. Which is why it looks like they are suggesting to shave a bit off the final drive cover. I personally wouldn't use the 40T, coz there's too much scope for muck to get stuck at that point and jam the...

Replacing BBS02 locknuts with a nylon insert nut

@Raboa I just realised you meant the actual motor locknuts and not the axle, whoops. If you are having issues with the motor rotating in use, have you made sure the mounting plate knurled side is facing inwards towards the bottom bracket housing? Also, have you tightened the locknuts using...

The road users statistically most likely to cause casualties

I think a small minority of cyclists are a danger to themselves. I've witnessed riders blatantly ignore red lights, ride at speed in conditions that require extreme caution, ride with shopping on the handlebars or one handed with a shopping bag in the other hand. I've seen riders wearing giant...

    Intermittent PAS problem on BBS01B

The BBS01B is a mid drive motor with an internal PAS magnet disc and sensor. It's impossible to install the disc the wrong way round and usually only a cracked disc or faulty sensor causes problems.

Replacing BBS02 locknuts with a nylon insert nut

I'll be honest and say, I just don't think there's the room for one of those. Even if there is, it'll be hard to tighten it up. Threadlocker fluid is the way to go and hasn't let me down yet.

    Bafang BBS02 mid drive

Solution, use a programming cable to tweak a setting or two, then enjoy. I'd start by dropping current limit down about 5 amps on the 'Basic' tab, in the programming software.
