It makes no difference. I suspect that the forum link will contain just another small handful of owners going over and over the issue, along with non owners such as us, and in effect massively extending the thread length.

Percentage wise, the overall failure rate would hardly even be measurable against unit production, and if you look back through this thread, it is just the same handful of owners that are complaining. The thread reads like a scratched record. And people say that the brexit thread is boring...

It's a good system, but sadly it is also a fine balancing act of knowing when to start filling them. I drain them down and clean them as best that I can each winter, but knowing when to start to allow them to refill is always a hard one. If the water is left too long, it goes stale, which okay...

Perhaps think about changing your footwear to dedicated mtb shoes/boots. The soles are often designed, so that you don't slip off the pedals.
