Thanks Trevor. :) Strange how despite just how rubbish that the weather is again at the moment, it always feels great to out. I have swapped my working week around, and grabbed the chance to pop and explore more of the woodland that I have been granted permission to ride in. There certainly...

Forum members who perform e-bikes conversions for a fee?

I'm not going to pass comment/judgement as you have posted in the correct forum section, except to say to say that you could do a lot worse than having a chat to Darren from Brighton ebikes. @brightonebikes Profile page http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/members/brightonebikes.15507/ .

But you also said that this worn out wreck of a bike was a good price, without even spotting it's catalogue of faults, all of which were apparent at a mere cursory glance...

    The dangers of buying on-line.

It is all good practice. :) The main thing to remember that it isn't a race to re fit it, and putting even tension on the bolts as you tighten, helps a lot.

    The dangers of buying on-line.

Actually, it is me that should and does apologize. If you hadn't done it before, then you weren't to know. :) I use two narrow wedge shaped pieces of wood when I do it. Using a wedge from top and bottom, keeps the push back in even, and being wood, the risk of damaging the brake piston is...

No comment about using a screw driver to force the brake pistons back into the caliper. :( Now for your next job.

A bit of a job to see from these photos, but these are kind of general examples of how low that things generally are. As a collective local mountain bike group, routes are intentionally kept low and often very tight, so that no horse riders can use them.

The terrain that I tend to ride at night time doesn't allow for a helmet light, unless side mounted which I have tried but didn't like. There are just too many low hanging trees and branches, and the helmet usually takes a knock or so per ride. My Camelbak has also pulled me off the bike twice...

I forgot to add something yesterday. I'm not sure how it cropped up in my Ebay recommended list, but a month or so ago, a watch and torch combination came up as a suggestion, and more out of curiosity than anything else, I paid my money and bought one...

    2.4 " off road tyres

Sort of been there with my old set WTB Vigilante tyres. Out on a group ride, I managed to get two punctures in the same evening/night. The first was hassle enough in what light remained, and the group at my request left me to catch them up. Three snapped tyre levers later, I was good to go...

Gubbins, do you know how to change brake pads? If you do, and on the assumption that riding an eMTB off road, that you would also have a spare package that would include a new set of new brake pads, why not just fit them and see if it solves the issue. Even if you don't have a new set sitting...

    Camera in your pocket thread.

Glad that you like it. :) Here it is at the end of the construction stage. I was asked to be an artist in residence for a weekend a local garden centre, and needed to find something to make that would be quiet when compared with my other creations that require power tools and chainsaws...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

A slight back issue has kept me away from the bike over the last week, but I couldn't resist getting out tonight for a brilliant ride in the rain and mud. I did momentarily question my sanity as I was putting the cycle gear on, as the rain pelted against the roof light. I have never really had...

    Moderation?

I thought that in this very forum sub heading of 'announcement' that admin had stated last year when the forum reshuffle about legal implications and liability had been raised, that future reference to words such as dongle etc, would automatically link to the UK/law status page. edit... Oddly...
