Help! Bosch 400Wh battery sudden death

The bosch warranty on batteries guarantees that they will replace a battery if it fails within 2 years or reduces below 80% capacity. If you're a high mileage user, I would say that you're almost guaranteed a new battery if you get it tested one week before the 2 years is up. You have to pay a...

EBike for tall man with arthritic hip

You should be able to get a good quality one for your budget, something like an Oxygen, Wisper, or Juicy are all good. If you want a bit more power, there's the 48v NCM Moscow. Overall, I'm leaning towards the new Wisper Wayfarer H9 which is 44v, so plenty of power. At 6ft 4", the only question...

    Battery discharger/level indicator

It's nothing to panic about. The idea is not to leave your battery fully charged or fully empty. That shouldn't be too difficult without any special equipment. I can imagine that you could count on one hand how many people in the UK connect their battery to some special device before storing...

    BPM 36V 500W 26(10)

Hall sensors are in the motor. The controller uses them to determine the position of the motor for accurate pulse timing. You need a brushless controller. It's a three-phase, brushless sensorless motor 310 rpm at 36v. The thing behind your chainwheel is the pedal sensor. Just about all ebike...

Not a great start with e-bikes. Chain continually jumps off the front sprocket.

The photo shows that the chain is slipping off the outside of the chainwheel, so a normal chainguide wouldn't work. You need one that guides both sides, like this...

    Battery discharger/level indicator

What bikes/batteries are they? Some can't be discharged without special equipment.

Not a great start with e-bikes. Chain continually jumps off the front sprocket.

Before doing anything, you could try adjusting the B screw on the back of your derailleur to put a bit more tension on the chain in top gear. A logical question would be: Does it only jump off in top gear? If the answer is no, none of this will help and you'll have to look for a chain guide of...

Ebike brake lever with power cut off

The HWBS threads over the inner cable, like it's part of the outer. it's 50mm long, so you cut off 50mm of the outer cable to compensate, or get a new inner cable. They're directional, so you have to fit them at the correct end of the cable, or you can cut the outer wherever you want and install...

EBike for tall man with arthritic hip

How bad is your hip? does it affect your pedalling. if so, you'd be better off with a bike that has a cadence pedal sensor rather than a toque sensor. Torque sensor bikes give power as a multiplication of your own, so you always have to pedal with some amount of force to get power. cadence...

    Trigger Bell

Yes all bells last a long time and cause no dissatisfaction if you never use them. You have to use one frequently to figure out if it's any good. A bell is only any good if the pedestrians respond to it. As I said, the bring-bring type are most effective. One that fits easily and sounds good to...

Ebike brake lever with power cut off

If you're any good at wiring and soldering you can use hidden wire brake sensors (HWBS) that go on the cables, then use any levers you want, or you can use a reed switch and magnet on the brake cable. There are all sorts of solutions depending on your DIY skills...

    Trigger Bell

A link would have been handy so that we know what it is. From personal experience, you need a bring-bring type bell, which is what pedestrians' hearing system seems to be tuned to. Other types of bell or horn are not nearly as effective. Bring-bring bells never last long. The cheap ones have...

    BPM 36V 500W 26(10)

No, you need a sensorless or dual mode ebike controller. Code 10 is quite fast at 310 rpm, which is 23 mph in a 26" wheel, It will give good power up to around 20 mph (10% faster when the battery is fully charged). 22 amps is about about right for normal use with a 36v battery, or you can go up...

Help! Cheap batteries ali express etc

You might get 15 miles from one of those £50 ones, but that would be about it before you'd need to buy another one. As I said, I've never tried one, but they appeared about the same time as the 15 cent recycled cells.

    Help! charging problem

I think that's three times I've seen that on this forum. It happened to me once before we had LCDs. I bought a 36v controller that turned out to be a 48v one. Luckily, there was a jumper inside that converted it from one to the other.

Help! Cheap batteries ali express etc

There are some very cheap ones at the moment (around £50). AFAICT, they're made from recycled cells, so avoid them, but any that's above say £150 would probably be OK. I've bought loads of cheap batteries and they all worked
