    Batteries

The pack voltage you set determines the number of cells (the S value). When you press start, the B6 gives you an R value - the number of cells it "reads"/thinks you have. The two need to match. If they don't, you may have a poor cell connection somewhere. I had a cloned B6 but it packed up. My...

Furo X or Gron E Cycle

Yes, the battery is forward of the axle, but the point I make is that the rack isn't (whichever rack you have). Full/heavy panniers will lighten the front end.

    Halfords vengeance cutting out

If you use the forum search, you'll find it's littered with many Carrera e-bike owners having cut-out issues. There's plenty to read here, but IIRC no-one ever really came up with a permanent solution to the problem... and Halfords don't seem to have an answer either.

Furo X or Gron E Cycle

That's strange. That picture came from Furos own website, and they're still using that same image on their website today here. There is a youtube video showing a smaller rack fitted, but even so, any weight carried is still behind the rear axle because of the battery. Ideally, you need that...

    Battery Repair & Recelling

The replacement cost for a brand new, larger capacity battery for the OP's bike was under £130 delivered, from YP when I last posted. IMHO, any "repair" even using reclaimed cells can't be up to much if it costs a great deal less than that given the labour involved.

well i got some heated gloves for £30

So after SW's modifications, we're looking for the rider of a hot-rodded Haibike screaming down the street with his hands on fire?

    Hi I'm newv

Yes @sjpt of course you're totally right. I just heard "I put the pedals in wrong" which is what happens when blokes are talking b8ll8cks after the 5th or so pint, and I likely made an assumption. But as you point out, you can't reverse the pedals because of the thread. He did strip the thread...

    Punctures

I do agree with that, having put them on one of my hybrid ebikes after the original Kenda Kourier tyres wore out at 1000 miles. The KK's had a narrow fast rolling centre strip with a more open side-tread. The MP+'s require more effort, feeling very sluggish by comparison. I don't share your...

    Hello!

It's a fantastically versatile e-bike for sure. I'm curious though... it takes 160kg... how does it feel/cope hauling all that weight with just a EU standard 250w motor? In America, they use a 750w motor I think, which would seem to make more sense/be more able/useful/practical given the bikes...

    Review Pinnacle Mercury 2021

The mains leads are generic, nothing special. You could/should change the standard 13 amp fuse for a 3 or 5 amp though. Evans should know/be able to test if the batteries they're selling are still good. You should (in most but not quite all cases) be able to check both battery and charger...

    Review Pinnacle Mercury 2021

I'm not really following you completely. Do you mean you need a mains lead with a cloverleaf plug like this to connect the charger to the wall socket? If so, £3.99 on ebay here.: If you're missing the above lead, the battery is likely flat and needs charging. I remember it's a Bafang LED...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

Yes, just B&Q kitchen downlighters... 4 x 12v 40w = 160w / 36v = an average of a 4-amp draw. It's a comfortable load for a 36v ebike battery. 20w would do too, just take longer to dump the surplus energy. Others here likely see me as paranoid regaling tales of having batteries for 4/5/6 years...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

I have a habit of charging my battery to full in anticipation of a days ride, only to find the weather turns and not going. I've lost a 36-volt battery before by leaving it fully charged for too long, so I always take my batteries back down to about 38-volts if they're then not going to be used...

    Kudos bike on offer.

I notice Kudos have added a new folding bike (in citrus and tonic flavours) to their range in September '21. Although not ebike(s), IIRC they'll be the first new bike product they've added for a long, long time (since 2017?). I hope that means Kudos will be re-entering the fray and we might see...

    Hi I'm newv

Two simple things that occured to me that you might want to double-check first if you haven't already: 1) Check you've put your pedals on the right way around (they're marked L & R) otherwise they'll work themselves loose (happened to a friend who described similar issues to you before one...

    Hi I'm newv

If you feel you've reached an impasse, I think it might be a good idea to take your bike to a local e-bike shop and ask them to comment and document the problems and a cost to fix them. You may need to pay the shop for their time, but it gives you documented evidence of the faults from an...

    Hi I'm newv

I have a Bafang M400 on one of my bikes, maybe 3 years old now with quite a few miles on it and trouble-free from new. That sort of play doesn't sound at all right to me. Eskute offer a 15-day return policy and a 2 year warranty thereafter. How old is your bike? Can you return/exchange it? What...

    Kudos bike on offer.

IIRC that offer has been going for a couple of years now. Although it's undoubtedly fine value, I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy two... it's not a "his'n' hers" style of e-bike. They've been kicking around since before the "China Import Duty" was imposed. That's a long time for those...

    Carrera impel im-3 Derestric

There seems to be some confusion here: Hyena DO make the parts available to fix the OP's bike. The Dealer software is a Dealer tool to help fix the bike. It's a standalone product the OP didn't buy and thus has no entitlement to it. If Hyena were forced by law to sell it to end users, there's...

ZOOM HB-100: Upgrading cable-operated disc brakes to hydraulic calipers

Yes, the Juin Tech R1 are for road and gravel bikes, the Juin Tech M1 are for MTB and e-bikes. The Bolton Ebikes video shows the M1 variant. There's a 4-pot version called the GT too. With these Zoom HB-100's, I'm wondering if there'd be any benefit using an adaptor and a 180mm rotor at least...
