    Converting a little folder

It was a very nice ride that bike. To be honest, it had so many gears and was so easy to ride, I don't think I'd need any electricity to ride it anywhere - even now many years later. I sold it because it seemed just too valuable to be lying in the garage, and I never dared leave it alone...

Pendleton Somerby - how to fix broken cables at rear hub

Would you not think that the insulating enamel on the wire of the burned coils will have broken down? I'd have expected them to be shorted out if not yet, pretty soon when some vibration gets at them. I've seen some youtube videos of a Chinese girl rewinding and replacing field coils like that...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Water isn't a scarce natural resource at all. It is abundant. The water on planet Earth is older than the Earth itself and older than the sun. The planet has 1,386,000,000 cubic kilometers of it. Fresh water is about 2% - 3% of that total. 68% of fresh water is ice tied up at the poles and in...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Still, some nice scenery on the way, and i made friends with one or two midges.... blood brothers you might say. Mine mostly. Just got back home. I'm buggered as my father used to say. 15000 odd paces and some up and down too. I will get that left over Chicken Bhuna that I made yesterday...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Its is very difficult to accurately size an animal like a cat when you suddenly see it in an unfamiliar remote setting. I've spent countless leisure hours during my adult life prowling settings like the ones I have posted in photographs. I am well versed in stalking field craft and can move...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Here is another image of it from the web. It is called Jerry's Lynne and is on the Chirdon Burn , a tributary of the River North Tyne. By the way - all the river water around here is this amber ale colour. It is caused by the fact that it has seeped out of hundreds of sq kilometres of sphagnum...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Yes - I agree. I've been coming here since the early 1970s and now I live four miles south of the southern end of the forest. Two hundred and fifty square miles of forest and 150 million trees. Next to no people. If you explore these forests, you find amazing places in them. Old fortified...

The problems we have are ENTIRELY caused by too many people. Here is what the world is like where you get away from them. I am going walking here today.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Since you had electric heating before, and since most electricity in France is already zero carbon because it is generated by nuclear plant, it seems a bit wild to pay a lot of money to install an electric heat pump. Maybe you did it to reduce your bill. Fans get louder and louder as they age...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

The ratio between heat KW gained and electric kilowatts used to suck in air is variable. The quoted 3 times output (I've NEVER seen 4 quoted anywhere) is variable, and the quoted 3 times depends on outside air being warm. Most people I have talked to in the UK where I am who have installed these...

Look at the scale on the left hand side Lenny........ I challenge you to walk into two rooms, one at 18c and one at 19.5 degrees and tell the difference. The mean temperature of the UK year round is just over 9c. It used to be 8c, So what, It is still bloody cold.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

I came across this while following saneagle's comedy link to the Glasgow Battery recycling plant fire. All EU origin cars now to be fitted with effective, intelligent speed limiters so drivers can't break speed limits. They will know the limits and refuse to break them - apparently. Some...

    Increasing the charge rate.

How quick a turnaround do you actually need? I think charging faster has some impact on useful battery life. If that is true, it would be a shame to shorten battery life, unless there was a good reason to do it.

How much battery sag is too much for a 3 year old battery?

That makes sense. The voltage did not collapse during the episodes in question. It just sagged a bit to about 34 /33. I was in the lowest gear to enable me to assist substantially, so I may have been spinning a bit. The delay in the motor kicking in (about 4 seconds) after a pedalling change may...

How much battery sag is too much for a 3 year old battery?

This might give you an idea of the terrain. That drop off into the valley is about 500 feet of vertical or more. This is my old retired 125 that I bought when I came here and struggled to pedal up these monster trails. There is nowt wrong with that bike mind you. I just have two better ones now...

How much battery sag is too much for a 3 year old battery?

I still wonder if guerney is onto something about when the battery is nearly done and simply doesnt put out the amps the controller is asking for. Need to drain it and try again.

How much battery sag is too much for a 3 year old battery?

Right @saneagle now. Ok. Up at the top of the hill. Battery voltage 39v. I can certainly replicate the cadence cutting power. Pedal like guerney is after me in his orange gimp mask and the power out falls off. When i slow cadence, there is a delay of four seconds and then it surges in again. I...
