    GnG mid-drive kit

:) I brought the kit two weeks ago and have finally ordered a bike for it. Because of the 38t restriction I looked at Nexus and alfine powered bikes and this was the final list of candidates for a doner bike. Fuji Comp 7 Light - Mens | Buy Online | ChainReactionCycles.com Ventura...

    GnG mid-drive kit

If its like the old kit the crankset has to be replaced with the kit set because it has a freewheel. It is only a single ring that is pulled via the direct drive motor cog. It means your limited to 38t because otherwise it collides with direct drive cog.

    GnG mid-drive kit

The kit that is being fitted in the video is not the same as the picture of the new 250w kit! The new kit seems to be the old 250w kit with the housing extended so that it slots around both sides of the BB. It also has a sealed cartridge BB replacement instead of the spindle of the old kit. Both...

    Commuter Light Deal

I originally had a cree t6 powered light on my MTB. Was too bright for city use attracting Plods attention too much. Great for out of town though. The Smart Lunar front light I have on my folder. Very nice light I agree. I didn't like the rear light and and swapped it for a Cateye. The RSPCA are...

    Mezzo D9 gearing question

I would leave the Mezzo alone and convert the Dahon. Use a nice off the shelf conversion kit and follow d8vehs build. Make thing easy for yourself :) I have been riding the Tern for about a couple of months now. The new 8fun motor is very quiet and the kit now has split magnetic wheel like...

    Bafang 350W 48V rear motor - what's your view?

Have you tried a rear 36v BPM with a 20amp 8fun e-bus controller. I have a bike with this fitted and have restricted it for speed and it pulls like a train up hills. Try one of these first before you decide that you need to go 48 volts?

My current 20" folding bike short list for next conversion...

On the MTB I had to file some paint from the 135mm dropouts. The motor(with 8 speed freewheel) fitted with the dropouts having to be very slightly moved apart. I also fitted 2 torque arms. Ebike solutions from Germany has a nice selection. Mine mated directly against the angled sides of the...

My current 20" folding bike short list for next conversion...

My MTB originally had a jarring ride. It was worse than I remembered my old steel road bikes to be and it has suspension forks. I put it down to the aluminium frame. The 8fun 20" bike has a lovely ride quality. very comfortable to ride and it also has an aluminium frame. It has however got a...

What is the maximum price you would spend on an electric bike?

Hi Dave, I think that your King bike represents excellent value for money and is all that I would be prepared to pay for a ready rolled bike. I have just finished 6 months of commuting on a similarly kitted bike and it has performed flawlessly and the parts are quality items. Sometimes...

Wisper rear Bafang and front Dapu motors.....

Thanks for the welcome David, I rode the bike around our local park for a month before I fitted the kit. The difference afterwards was that I preferred the feel of the bike! It felt less twitchy, more planted and smoother. It accelerated a bit less quickly because of the weight of the rear...

Wisper rear Bafang and front Dapu motors.....

I was worried about the possible drag factor on Bafang powered motors due to the problems other people have flagged on this forum and can only speak of my own personal experience. I also didn't notice any extra drag on either of our bikes. Several friends have tried out the (BPM) bike (who...
