Fuel consumption: 0.1 liters per hour of oil

imo you can also use old cooking oil but might soot up faster.

so that's 1l per 10 hrs of usage we have put 120 quid in the pre pay meter last 4 weeks for gas and the guy over the road has used over 100 quids worth as well.

Two 40W GuerneyWarmerator™ Lites would each cost less than 45p a day or £3.15 = £6.31 a week or £25.24 a month to run 24/7 (plus standing charge) and would keep two of you very warm. Downside is, you won't be doing much moving about unless you get very long extension leads, and do a lot of hopping, like I do. I'm about to rubberise the thermostat with some of that 10m self-amalgamating rubber tape I bought the other week, to prevent that getting broken.

-18c plants wont even grow not weed anyway.
My strawberry plants have their own little 60W ceramic bulb heater on a timer, I can still get fresh strawberries any time of year.

I've found a way to keep my face and head warm... this:

... wasn't enough without an extra cheapo XXXL Thermolite hat on top - when sleeping, you just pull it down and it doesn't touch your face because of the other hat.

I'm ready for if electricty prices quadruple... ;)

see how long that takes but if ur hut gets real cold it can burst water pipes and cause damp
I'll switch on the central heating every few days. I don't think my home will ever get below zero - loft insulated, thick black velvet curtains and (cr*p) double glazing. I've also put mylar space blanket over some windows.

Because of the LED lights growing strawberries all year round in my kitchen window recess, my neighbours think I'm growing weed - I've been expecting a Police raid for years. I can't wait to sue them for a broken door, recurrent taser barb puncture wound infections, emotional distress etc.

Excuse my nosiness @soundwave but do you get a detailed report saying exactly what you're paying for, price per KWH, VAT, standing charge etc? £120 per month for gas, just seems insane.

I'd fill the house with electric oil filled radiators, perhaps set up an electric charging station and charge.

One guy locally on the nextdoor forum was moaning about his monthly bill being £600, god knows what they are using sounds like they are trying to heat a barn up.
Som folks have no rational on how to economise or be thrifty.

Over many years, my experience has been that it's much easier to get paid by a poor client, than by a very wealthy one - money sticks to them. They don't get rich or stay rich by spending money. Pockets like closed bear traps.

Am doing £170 just on GAS for 4 weeks DEC/JAN - I worked it out 7 hours off heating day in theses temps(-6 "feels like"). I imagine it's non-insulated homes. I have no ceiling insulation or good cavity insulation, heat just bleeds out, once I turn the heating off our place goes down to 17 degs in 10 mins

we live in a pre fab house from the 60s i think but the doors and windows are just crap and leak heat so in the kitchen and hall way it is 19c if that even at full blast.

and never give energy company's a dd as will use you like a money tree and try getting it back!

ceiling insulation
Neither are ideal from the point of view of fire prevention, very flammable - but would old duvets (and pillows) and space blankets be cheap temporary loft insulation above the odd room you use most often? It's good to buy new duvets regularly anyway, as they lose air volume. 10 space blankets can be bought for about £7 on ebay.

I added foam strips and draught excluders to all the doors, they make a huge difference.

In my previous home 13 years ago, the windows were absolutely abysmal at retaining heat, which is why I originally bought 2m X 2m clear thick plastic bags - when cut open and stuck over windows, they trapped air and kept rooms much warmer for longer. You lose the view but gain heat. When I was a student in much worse accommodation, 20 layers of ultra cheap bubblewrap over the windows was extremely effective, stuffed into the inset and screwed in. The bubblewrap wasn't visible from the outside, because the first layer was cloth. It also reduced higher frequency traffic and crowd noise from the busy road outside.

any good on bike?

make sure you are chopping up some strawberries up when they burst through the door, the knife will go a long way in attaining your injury goals & maximise your compensation.

detailed report saying exactly what you're paying for,
I think the regs did away that, so it's now up to the energy supplier or self tracking.

Total Gas Charges £14.54
Hard as nails man... Do you have a log fire or is it just blankets.

I am frugal in most other things, but not energy, until I can't pay I suppose I have to bite the bullet. Even with loads of layers I still feel the cold. If my bloods get dangerously low at night I may need paramedics, cba with that in it's current state + if I don't sleep well I lose cognitive ability during the day, although some would say I lack that anyway. I also sweat at night if bloods are high and sweat in a cold bed is no fun. I need warmth to function & without it diabetic management becomes harder than the normal daily chore.

temporary loft insulation
Love it, I doubt the actual roof loft has any, a few bats maybe - I am in a ground floor flat and I suspect I maybe providing my neighbour with subsidised underfloor heating.

Last month wasn't cold, so use of central heating was minimal and I was able to mostly get away with using just the 40W electric blanket, without the sleeping bag, hence the £14.54 gas bill for 37 days. This month, for the first time in years my feet are properly warm inside the sleeping bag containing both my body and the 40W electric blanket.

When feeling especially frugal, I keep the central heating turned off completely, but when not, I merely turn it down until it feels a comfortable temperature, then turn off, turn on, off, on etc.

You really need to buy a couple of electric blankets and sleeping bags ASAP. Possibly also a couple of hats.

any good on bike?
It could it be I suppose, a hat like that, but I use a rain cover over my jawguarded helmet which keeps it from getting draughty, and a very thin windproof and waterproof hat underneath because nothing else will fit, plus a thick KN95 covid mask keeps some of my face warm.

I think the regs did away that, so it's now up to the energy supplier or self tracking.
I'm pretty sure you can ask for a statement, if they are not sending you any. If not, send them a Subject Access Request and they have to comply.

Deffo stick space blanket to the ceiling! I would. Cheap wallpaper paste might work? I haven't tried sticking space blanket to walls with wallpaper paste, yet. A spray glue would certainly it on stick better.

I do this when it's 4-10 degs out side, but when I tried it this month the flat thermometer was at 18 degs, I am not comfy until 22 degs, as mentioned when the heating goes off this will drop in minutes.

couple of electric blankets
It has crossed my mind, but money is getting tight & I have limited storage, I have ordered a higher tog duvet. Needing regular blood scans (CGM) and 6 injections a day puts me off wrapping up + it's hard to use my game controller with winter gloves on lol
