Good thing too, Octopus are the natural successor, having a similar philosophy to Bulb's and quite unlike that of British Gas and the other objectors.

I got my email today informing me. Indeed Octopus does seem to be an optimal successor, but will they fall, hopefully due diligence & stress tests have been rigorously overseen by the regulator.
They'll succeed, they are one of the big boys, especially now with Bulb UK added. And they are not just a gas and electricity supplier to homes and businesses, they are also a growing player in the e-car charging point market:
