They have also shifted oodles of programs around on, for example, Radio 4 Extra so even when you a permitted to listen to something else, the choice is bizarre. A complete Agatha Christie repeated three times to fill the day. (A well-worn repeat at that.) And inconsistently so a program is shown as available but then won't be for a week because original broadcast date is now in the future.

One channel of radio, one of TV, would have been more than enough.
Yes, totally OTT, but I'm always prepared for it.

I currently have 103 unwatched TV programs on my Freeview TV recorder that I constantly draw on and top up with fresh ones.

Plus links to 36 Radio 4 programs I haven't listened to yet.

Plus around 80 Podcasts of past informative Radio 4 programs of special interest and worth listening to again.

These are another reason why I don't pay for any subscription services from Sky or the like.

As Prince Andrew travels to Balmoral, local authorities are putting up these warning signs near schools in the area
In a parralel world Andy would make a great King. He'd embrace that brexit boris truss spirit of spending vast amounts of public money for no obvious reason.

Has anyone heard mention of William becoming Prince of Wales?
Confirmed in the King's speech at 6 today
We just can't catch a break.

As if we don't have enough expense with Brexit, Covid and the Ukraine war fallout, we now have to pay for a international scale State Funeral, a Coronation and an Investiture (Prince of Wales).

As Anthony Newley once said, "Stop the world, I want to get off".

I guess we at least don't have to invite Russia, Belarus and North Korea?

Pound is 1.14 to euro this am (was 1.19 a bit over a week ago), have a hunch the bond market will stop the 12 year tory gravey train before ineffectual starmer

During her inaugural address to departmental staff last Wednesday, Suella Braverman said a top priority would be stopping all Channel crossings. She has also asked all staff to watch “trashy TV” to help their “mental wellbeing”, a source said, specifically citing Channel 4’s Married at First Sight and First Dates as well as Love Island.
I was just reading about that!

I think Hitler might have banned all small boat channel crossings. But it didn't work.

We accept her family fleeing from Kenya but she now wants others to be stopped !!

Seems it's her mental well being that needs some attention if she thinks that.

She's our enemy, on the hard right she wants to abolish the Human Rights Act which protects us from politician's abuses.

“trashy TV” to help their “mental wellbeing”

I think it would destroy mine but each to their own and personally it probably shows her mentality.
At one time, many people turned to Open University on BBC2 - at all sorts of times.

Now that had a calming effect which likely helped many to improve their mental well-being! (Not for one minute suggesting it would work for all. But I've numerous times seen people absolutely absorbed in OU programs. Clearly gaining something from them.)

How sad that government ministers are now pushing trash TV.

Does she have shares in televison companies? (Program makers or others.) Or other reason to push them.

Those in the extremes of leadership such as the Far Right, the Far Left and Religious rule have a vested interest in an uneducated, shallow minded, unquestioning population.

She'd probably close the OU if she could.
