My daughter seems to be doing fine, says if it weren't for being Covid she, d be at work... And hubby now tested positive but no symptoms...
The care home they both volunteer is as just had 23 cases test positive. All of them had vaccine about 6 weeks ago... All mild to virtually no symptoms,no serious cases no hospitalisation but if any of them keel over its still recorded as a covid death and the 23 cases still go on infected list..
Is this vaccine or would this have been case without it. I sort of guess who will say yah and nah.???
Isn't it about time we all accepted government are doing well on Vaccine front. Seems you can't say that without being called a BJ fan boy.. (now there is a euphanism) (I, ll check spelling of that, looks wrong)
Pleased to hear that your daughter is doing well.

From what you say, it sounds like the single dose of vaccine is doing what it was calculated to do. No doubt Quincy ME will be alone to poo-poo the notion soon enough

I‘m no artist, but this Bob Ross series hooks me in. I think it must be from the 1970s. The Beeb has been showing it during lockdown to calm nutters down and to try and stop them killing each other.

It‘s a nice programme.
I, m enjoying Rick Stein in France.. Was funny last night, said a restaurant he, d eaten in there was appalling... We, ve found cheap to moderate priced food in France is not so great, but pay a lot and they are very good. More or less what he said last night. Think he, s one of the few likeable celebrity chuffs.

My nephew in Italy had Coronavirus, probably three weeks ago. He’s fully recovered and feels absolutely fine, but keeps testing positive.
It's the many things like this that make me believe the swab test is too unreliable to be believed. In any form of testing it is imperative that the results are consistent, precise and repeatable. If they aren't, the test is invalid.

it could be that the person has developed a tolerance for the virus in his upper respiratory tract where it continues to be found. You are really ill only if it gets into your blood.

I think resistance has nothing to do with the quality of swabs. Your own health is one thing, but spreading the virus is a bit different. Meaning that you can be totally resistent and show no sympthoms but still spread the virus. This is why those PCRs are for. I head the virus can stay for a bit in the nasal and throat part. As for the tests, the more time comes the more I become convinced that it is not always the test that can be faulty, but the taking technique too. Lilke for example if you do not observe the rule of not taking food, drinks etc. before the test, it can give you a false positive or false negative result and so on.

Indeed, I posted similarly in another challenge to the test. It still indicates the testing method gives unreliable results.

Everybody, stop trying to think you know better than people who’s lives have been spent working on virology and vaccination. They have dedicated their lives to the pursuit of public wellbeing. They aren’t going to suddenly do an about turn and deliberately publish information designed to harm you.

None of you on here come close to matching their expertise. You know FA.

If you want something to do, grab a Horlicks, sit in the high-backed chair and get Bob Ross on the telly.

But most importantly, stop causing harm to people.

So we know FA do we, and we are supposed to take your word, a man who is a least consistent
Voted Brexit; regretted that decision
Voted Tory: Spend his time lambasting his government
Supports taking risks with vaccine dosage dates as he want to applaud this disastrous government that uses non viable data based of far too small sample sizes or length of testing to push an agenda where the safety of the public takes second place to being popular with those in society who have a single talent
That have turning a blind eye to catastrophe because they supported the people responsible as it reflects badly on their shockingly poor critical faculties.
Here for example is an actual member of the cabinet

UK Can't Close Its Border Because It's An Island 'Unlike Australia', Says Grant Shapps

"But most importantly, stop causing harm to people."
After what you have done personally?
Because we urge caution?

I'm sorry, it's funny in a tragic way

All medical intervention carries a risk. There is no such thing as risk free medicine. It’s always a case of managing the risks to deliver the best outcome to the maximum number of people.

But of course you are determined not to understand that.

Pacific Trade agreements news
After an intensive search of the entire Pacific ocean the combined naval fleets of the entire seagoing nations around the Pacific Rim failed utterly to locate the UK.
They are now following up a clue from a man living on the Pitcairn Islands who claims to have heard of it, but been subject to ridicule for his beliefs

Nothing to fear here though, liz Truss has suggested that the Pitcairns status be changed from Colony to a member nation of the United Kingdom.
She has good grounds to do this as there is more of our money there than ever has been locally owned by the Native population.

I think on balance my judgement is infinitely safer than yours has proved to be, had many of remarks been taken up at the time I made them there would be a much shorter casualty list.
You really need to stop being part of the problem, and start thinking objectively.
Your judgement isn't of good enough quality to be used as a yardstick.

That Harding woman should be summarily ejected.

Test and trace chief Dido Harding says no one could predict new variant would emerge

Dido Harding, head of NHS test and trace, is giving evidence to the Commons science committee. Here are some of the main lines from her evidence so far.
  • Harding claimed that no one was able to predict that a new variant of the virus would emerge. She made the claim as she was defending the overall record of test and trace, in response to criticism from Greg Clark, the committee chair, who suggested that it had failed to stop England going back into a lockdown. Harding said:
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2021/feb/03/uk-covid-live-coronavirus-hancock-england-hotel-quarantine-plans-arrivals-coronavirus-vaccine-brexit-latest-updates?page=with:block-601a7e2f8f08c315844c8fc8#block-601a7e2f8f08c315844c8fc8

We really should start a daily count of people succumbing to the stupidity outbreak

Ah that explains it, I was wondering why there had been a significant reduction in your rants against the French recently;)

You won't accept any down sides of your argument tho... Yes, of course in an ideal world we, d be able to vaccinate millions of people and all with the recommended gap between the two... Unfortunately in the real world there is a finite number of jabs with respect to time. It seems UK is capable of vaccinating at the goal rate.. Ie about 2 million per week. I believe today we have just past the 10 million mark.... Had we vaccinated by your regime that would be 5 million. No matter how you see JVT, CW and PV they are convinced vaccinating 10 million once is preferable to 5 million twice.
And nobody was specifically saying you now FA about epidemiology, the point was none of us do. We are all, on here, Google, armchair experts. No matter what you think you don't have even 10% of the knowledge or experience of the folk making the decisions.
Of course I would much rather my daughter have had her 2nd jab but I can see the reasoning and understand that her having her 2nd would have meant somebody else totally unprotected. Hopefully, what appears to be no more than a cold at moment might well have saved somebody else's life.
In your world we have 100 million jabs available tomorrow and capability to put them in arms in a couple of weeks... We don't. Perhaps as new jabs become available and we, ve increased our capacity to a million jabs a day we won't have to make compromises to save lives.

That's too black and white. It's brilliant if you can get a test that is consistent, precise and repeatable; but even if you can't a somewhat dodgy test may be better than none at all (especially if you allow for the possible doginess).
