The Queen and Prince Philip have been vaccinated, which vaccine they were given has not be released. If you had to guess, which vaccine do you all think they had?
Covid-19: Queen and Prince Philip receive vaccinations - BBC News
Exactly the question that ran through my head.

It wasn't 100% clear when they were vaccinated but, if this week, I put my half-crown on Oxford-AstraZenica British vaccine. But it could just be that it was announced now when no-one will actually know for sure - but was done a little while ago with Pfizer/BioNTech.

Thank you flecc. I’d really like to try and get it sorted for this lady. It’s a fairly new Bosch Performance Line, so I think I need to try the magnet on crank idea before she commits to buying a turbo trainer. They are quite expensive, so this needs to be tested.
Could she use something like this which means the rear wheel doesnt need removing so you wont get any problems?

Attach a magnet to crank ring and mount sensor so it picks movement up.???
System won't work without a magnet passing sensor periodically..???
And if pulse rate is too slow... (shouldn't be, no law about pedalling slow) just attach another magnet to crank ring....

My guess would be it was the Pfizer vaccine, because if it had been the AZ one I think that information would have been released. The Government have a great deal riding on the AZ vaccine, and so anything that might undermine it, for example the Queen using the American Pfizer vaccine might encourage people to want the "One the Queen had". As you know if everyone insisted on only the Pfizer vaccine we will never get out of the mess we are currently in.

Whereas we have actually seen stories of people refusing the Pfizer/BioNTech because the want the English [yes - literally - despite the finishing being done in Wales] one.

Whichever they had, probably a good idea not to publicise it.

AstraZenica in the right arm for these part English right wingers, plus foreign Pfizer in the left arm to protect their German and Greek parts.

Second doses the same exactly 21 days later.

Great suggestion Zlatan. I’m not familiar with Bosch motors, I’m a Panasonic man:D

Does the motor pickup just need a periodic pulse then? I thought the motor software calculated the bike’s road speed from the pulse frequency and wheel size. The pedal cadence (attaching magnet to pedal crank) doesn’t give the motor that information, will it still work?

I suppose I could do as you say and take the bike for a quick test ride.
I think it would but obviously speed reading on computer would be way low, but shouldn't be a problem, system will just think you are pedalling way slower than you actually are. (back wheel rotates way faster than crank)
Keep me informed... Would be a way of deregulating bike...??? Good luck...

Unfortunately, that is fake news. You have to read the words carefully. She retweeted Lin Wood, a prominent lawyer. Yup, that makes her the most extreme Trump supporter of the worst kind.
Read through the following link and ask yourself is that story likely to be more accurate rather than something going around on the Alt Right web sites you spend your time on.

An incorrect speed distance readout shouldn’t be an issue.

The sceptic in me suspects that Bosch wouldn’t make it that easy to defeat their speed restriction system.

There is a thread on this site somewhere about all this and your right it's not easy to defeat the Bosch speed restriction system, and I think it's even harder to defeat the latest Bosch systems. The expert on all this kind of thing tends to be soundwave.

The Bosch needs the periodic pulses to register for the motor to be energised . I assume the pulse frequency range ..for different wheel diameters is set in the LBSs Computer system which communicates with the Activa display A sensor on the pedal would be rotating too fast .Note the magnet on the spoke has to be at an offset to the pickup otherwise it doesn't work.therefore it cannot be exactly in line. My memory is that the sensors on the pedal shaft are measuring torque, and therefore advising the user when to change up and down gears . There well may be another toque detector on the actual motor

I can see it now! Brexiteers demanding Sovereign vaccine. :)

Soberana (Sovereign) 2 will be tested in Phase III trials in around 150,000 people in Havana after it has completed Phase II trials which started on 22 December, officials have confirmed.

Cuba’s Finlay Vaccine Institute said late on Friday it has signed an accord with Iran’s Pasteur Institute to collaborate on testing of the vaccine.

“This synergy will enable both countries to advance more rapidly in the immunization against the SARS-CoV-2 virus,” it said on its Twitter account.

My Goodness ! not only did I get mine before the Queen but by the sound of it, the same one too
That means of course that Oldgroaner's little prick was good enough for the Queen! (in a manner of speaking)

.. surely you mean the Turkish German , Belgian vaccine? The Jenner one has value not because of its design in England, but because it can probably be manufactured by multiple factories. That it is room temperature stable is nit really important in a country as technically advanced and compact as the UK. The lower cost is irrelevant, as even a day earlier return to normality pays for the vaccine.

A magnet on the crank might be rotating too slowly but certainly not too fast.. (In any gear back wheel rotates faster than crank, look at relative sizes of gears, large on crank, smaller on back wheel)
There might be problems on Bosch system because it's chain ring does not rotate at same speed as crank (there is a multiplier gear within crank mechanism)
The later emtb systems don't have a magnet on back wheel. It's incorporated into crank mechanism somehow.
If sensor on back wheel is removable and its possible to move it near chain ring, with magnet on chain ring I suspect system would work fine. A pulse is a pulse..
Dongle on back wheel simply reduces frequency of pulse to remove 15.5 mph limit. (It halves the pulses)

Here is a classic example of Govism

Killing the bees not merely sad, but dangerous, and if the pesticide gets into food?
Speaking of Gove (if we have to):

Mr Gove warned that “the real challenge and potential for significant disruption” will start on Monday, when traffic flows are expected to begin returning to normal levels, with 40,000 trucks heading for France each week.

??? If there is significant disruption the traffic flows won't be able to return to normal. If the traffic flows are normal, it undermines that there will be significant disruption.

Well, that's how I read it even if you can argue about what he really meant.
