Brexit, for once some facts.

It’s not been an issue for the past 20 odd years, but I suppose that’s no guarantee of future reliability. I imagine the greatest threat would come during the time of driverless cars. If they were reliant on GPS and a licensing fee was changed, that could cause big problems. The GPS operators could effectively hold a nation to ransom.

Ten years ago, we weren't relying on GPS to the same extent.

Things like lane navigation, location of utilities (underground services being an obvious example), etc., really do need high accuracy. Either by improvements to the satellite system or augmentation by other approaches.

Yes, someone else being in control is not acceptable. But even if we had our own entire system, it might be a really good idea to be friends with Galileo so that we provide resilience to each other.

This will be populated by a geostationary constellation of cube satellites manufactured in Glasgow.

All satnavs in Scotland will use the voices of Shir Shean Connery or Janey Godley.

Glasgow produces more satellites than any other city in Europe, well on the way to being world beating.

Unfortunately Rab finds himself somewhat indisposed too often to provide a reliable service. The Govan philosopher also has a tendency to wander off the point which is a distinct disadvantage during navigation.

Took a trip to Portsmouth yesterday to have a look around, got a bad sunburn now I look like Donald Trump complete with the white eyes ... and it hurts.

E scooters everywhere almost as many as bikes, shooting through red lights almost knocking elderly people over.
Youngsters tend to stick to pavement riding but adults take to the road on big machines travelling at speed.
I can see this turning out badly for some people, what's the chances of new legislation sooner or later after a few more innocents are flattened.

It is. It’s all over. Good News Guy has, “sent Coronavirus packing.” I think that was the phrase he used a couple of days before it nearly killed him.

I guess tonight he will announce the welcome news that Grand Children can at last, and once again infect their grandparents with COVID-19 and kill them. But don’t worry, there will be no more graphs showing the height of the pile of bodies, we can move on to our next success, Brexit.

It's young kids mostly on the pavements, their damn parents bike along next to them on the road so the child keeps looking over to them calling back...the result the kid looks away from where it's going and crashes into a pedestrian, you can't win.
Another trick is they fly along the pavement then when it gets busy ahead bunny hop onto the road...straight in front of a car .. god help them.

They don't seem to realise that it's already illegal to use any scooter on a pavement, child or adult.

And those kids who have powered ones will have a shock when the new law announces that a driving licence is necessary as well as road use only, making theirs scrap.

This whole move to legalise motorised ones is barmy, staying classified as motor vehicles they are only for on road use but need not be insured for third party risks, a first for a motor vehicle. So what happens when the adult rider collides with a car and badly damages it's paintwork? The car driver will demand compensation, but there's no insurance details to give, the rider can give a false name and address and there's no number plate for tracing them.

This government really doesn't think things through before announcing measures.

Actually, I’ve now remembered many years ago landing in a park in Corby, Northamptonshire. I thought I’d made a navigational error and landed in Glasgow. The place as a Scottish principality. I’ll remember not to mention skirts if ever I go back there, which I won’t.
