No one would tell me who this Hopkins individual is so I had to look it up ... oh dear.

I rather assumed you would look it up yourself! I certainly can't remember most of the issues. Just that Jack won against her. Certainly not a "wouldn't" in the sense of a refusal. :)

I wonder how many of the claimed million are real? How many are UK-based? And how many will really move across somewhere else?

real or not, if a media (medium?) makes a profit on advertising, why should it be any different from TV channels or online newspapers and benefit from lighter regulations?

A while back I read several reports about pollution in cities possibly increasing the risk of catching CV19. I wonder if days with a high pollen count might also increase the risk what do people think?

An interesting hypothesis. However, this paper suggests the opposite!

Current models for flu-like epidemics insufficiently explain multi-cycle seasonality. Meteorological factors alone, including associated behavior, do not predict seasonality, given substantial climate differences between countries that are subject to flu-like epidemics or COVID-19. Pollen is documented to be antiviral and allergenic, play a role in immuno-activation, and seems to create a bio-aerosol lowering the reproduction number of flu-like viruses. Therefore, we hypothesize that pollen may explain the seasonality of flu-like epidemics including COVID-19. We tested the Pollen-Flu Seasonality Theory for 2016-2020 flu-like seasons, including COVID-19, in The Netherlands with its 17 million inhabitants. We combined changes in flu-like incidence per 100K/Dutch citizens (code: ILI) with weekly pollen counts and meteorological data for the same period. Finally, a discrete, predictive model is tested using pollen and meteorological threshold values displaying inhibitory effects on flu-like incidence. We found a highly significant inverse association of r(224)= -.38 between pollen and changes in flu-like incidence corrected for incubation period, confirming our expectations for the 2019/2020 COVID-19 season. We found that our predictive model has the highest inverse correlation with changes in flu-like incidence of r(222) = -.48 (p < .001) when pollen thresholds of 610 total pollen grains/m3 per week, 120 allergenic pollen grains/m3 per week, and a solar radiation threshold of 510 J/cm2 are passed. The passing of at least the pollen thresholds, preludes the beginning and end of flu-like seasons. Solar radiation is a supportive factor, temperature makes no difference, and relative humidity associates even with flu-like incidence increases. We conclude that pollen is a predictor for the inverse seasonality of flu-like epidemics including COVID-19, and solar radiation is a co-inhibitor. The observed seasonality of COVID-19 during Spring, suggests that COVID-19 may revive in The Netherlands after week 33, the start being preceded by the relative absence of pollen, and follows standard pollen-flu seasonality patterns.

I agree with you.

Further, the revelation that she got a fake version of herself removed undermines its claim to total freedom.

If I want to post using any name whatsoever, that should be permitted - simply using first-come-first-served to allocate names. Faking your name is as basic a bit of total freedom as you can get, but she obviously wasn't happy for someone else to have that freedom.

I want my freedoms but you can't have your freedoms.

There is some info here on why Trumps rally was so poorly attended. I suspect if your over
30 (like most if not all of us on this thread) then a lot of this is going to be alien.

Mental illness is neither political or religious.
.
but often takes on very strong political or religious overtones; while many extreme (*) political and religious bigots/terrorists are very very close to mental illness. (?even some presidents?)

(*) typo on 'extreme' at first, suggested correction 'excrement'; maybe not so inappropriate?

We don't know if he is a looney yet. He is suspected of being a terrorist, we will find out which one he is in due course.
As Danidl has said, the description terrorist is meaningless.

We do know that he is receiving mental illness attention, his behaviour sometimes well outside the norm and has been dangerous and irrational.

i.e. Doing what we only think of doing.

Have the e-scooter trails started, every time I see I news report on London I see them.

The Department for Transport is reviewing the regulations that apply to e-scooters as part of its Future of Transport programme. A call for evidence on micromobility vehicles (which includes e-scooters) was launched in March and runs until 3 July 2020. We planned to run trials of e-scooters in 4Future Transport Zones. However on 9 May 2020 we announced that as a result of COVID-19 we would open up the opportunity of trials to more areas.

The trials will allow companies to offer rental e-scooters to adults only. Hirers will need driving licenses, either full or provisional, but won’t need to wear helmets. The e-scooters will be allowed to be ridden on roads and cycleways, but not on sidewalks or shared-use cycleway/sidewalk combos.

The e-scooters on trial will be limited to 12.5mph.

Those you see inLondon are the many that have been in use illegally for some while.

There are so many running around with no policing of them I doubt a new law will make any difference. They'll just carry on.

I don't know what shops like Halfords will do with all their existing stock scooters, often capable of 20 mph.

Wormtongue, ah!, yes, a name to summon up extreme untrustworthiness and intent to manipulate. Check Urban Dictionary, inter alia.

Sir Chris Wormald, the permanent secretary at the Department for Health and Social Care, claims that at the point when hospital patients were being discharged into care homes, coronavirus was not widespread in the community.

The Tory MP Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, who is questioning him, does not accept this. He suggests the policy made no sense.

I doubt they will do anything different; these are already illegal and will still be illegal.

The list their two Xiaomi models as limited to 15.5 mph, presumably thinking they are subject to e-bike law!

Just look at the number of views they are getting, the situation is clearly out of control:
