Brexit, for once some facts.

Don't agree, it's actually a Cummings stunt times to discredit lockdown and deflect blame from Boris for further casualties as I previously posted, the timing of this coming to light is far too convenient to be a fluke
No, it's far too damaging to Johnson and himself to be deliberate.

It's a media witch hunt. They been out to get him from the outset since he's disliked on all sides. The left hate him working for the Tories, the Tories hate him because he is in reality left wing and they don't like what he's doing in that direction.

Perhaps it is intended to unseat Johnsons? from the paymasters?

That Johnson actually thought it was sensible to jog round buck house gardens today shows his uttter disconnect.

I can understand that security issues might have meant one of the parks wasn't a good idea. But this just looks like rubbing our noses in it. We can not only go to Durham, but we can also use extensive facilities not available to anyone else. You plebs might not even be able to reach a decent open space from your homes.

Please note the emphasis - it is on Johnson seeing this as a sensible thing to do today, the day after the Cummings presser. That is, his judgement rather than the actual fact.

Possibly. They were banking on Johnson being a stooge to get Brexit done, but hadn't bargained on Cummings. Remember that with Sajid Javid as chancellor and long before Covid-19 there was the start of the big cash giveaway and the nationalisation of Northern Rail, with Grant Shapps saying they wouldn't be the last.

They were pure Corbynism, obviously backed by Cummings leftist instincts, and the Tories didn't like it one bit.

As I said, it's a witch hunt.

It seems you've bought all the rubbish excuses he's come out with, I never have.

He went to Durham because they wanted to to visit his parents with their son, they went to Barnard Castle on his wife's birthday.

He got caught out, so what? It's what all the privileged have been doing, from royalty down. That's the unbalanced society we live in and which the people have always accepted, obediently waving the little union jacks they are given. If they now decide they don't like it, then do like the French, Russians and Romanians et al, rise up and murder the offending class.

He should just have kept his mouth shut, carried on with his job and and ignored all the fuss from the equally offending media who are free to roam the country at all times as though the rules don't apply to them either.
.
And that rather fits in with my theory far too well
None of this had to come out
It did at a time when destabilising the public regarding the lockdown was deemed necessary within the government

It is certainly a witch hunt, ..and the fact that the warlock is generally unliked makes it a jolly jape. Nobody likes a clever clogs.

I think that’s what you’d like it to be, but it goes deeper. This is a matter of public wellbeing.
You see, I do not think you're puritanical, fwiw. And I'm not at all convinced you either mean or believe that, as a tory. I don't mean that as an insult, only as an observation between more or less rational adults. Johnson is becoming too expensive a disaster.

I say it's not.

If it was a matter of public well being, then it equally was when the Queen went to Windsor Castle affecting all of her staff there, when William and Charles went to Scotland and the other royals scattered themselves around the country. Where was the media then?

No. This is a media witch hunt on behalf of the Tory right against a hated figure.

Not at all, I've been very responsible, not only with regard to the pandemic but in not supporting this privileged society that creates these abuses.

You appear to be the guilty one, being complicit by supporting and voting for the privilege you now complain of. I say that because you've always appeared to be a Tory and a royalist. That's two more post-it notes for your office wall.
.
It’s not really anything to do with voting preferences or royalty. This goes beyond that.

Can’t see that. The Tory right are supporting him.

I do agree with you oyster, that trips into the countryside need not have been curtailed. The only criterion which has scientific validity is social distancing
I sort of agree. The only issue is that some people's interpretation of a trip to the countryside causes the breakdown of social distancing. If that is widespread enough it could justify a ban.
