"Potential problems" Perhaps aircraft will fall from the sky like they did in the year 2000 when all the computers failed because they couldn't update. Lol
How can the article be untrue when it uses the word potential.
The only reason Y2K issues did not cause major problems was the sheer amount of work done to avoid them. It was taken as a serious warning and acted on.

Despite that, there were issues, just none that caused the worst effects that had been seriously discussed.

For example, the operating systems of the mainframes I was involved with had some subtle changes whereby they could be made to assume dates like /00 through /30 were actually 2000 through 2030 rather than, as hitherto, 1900 through 1930. That single change probably prevented a very large number of issues - but did not demonstrate that Y2K would not happen. So there needed to be much more work done and many, many issues were uncovered. And fixed.

Let's be logical about this.
Has there been enough time, organisation and work done to ensure these checks are actually nona fide?
From the Gov.UK website.

In addition to an identity check, the three main ways in which your personal information will be processed are:

  • criminality and security checks;
  • if you have provided your National Insurance number, real time checks with the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs to consider evidence of your residence in the UK (for example tax or benefit records); and
  • on a case by case basis, sharing information with other organisations to verify evidence you have provided within your application to protect against fraud and the use of counterfeit documents (for example verifying with a university that the university certificate you have provided is genuine)
This data sharing is designed to help applicants evidence their status in a quick and straightforward way by using data already held by other Government departments.

If the data is already held the checks would take minutes.

Whoever wrote that is a bit less than thorough. Universities are not Government departments. Hence "This data sharing..." cannot include "verifying with a university" or, in fact, the generality of "other organisations".

How can anything be fact ...we haven't left and don't know the terms. All your facts are based on us staying in and even then we don't know what the EU would be like in 10 or 20 years. unless the claims of you being a gypsy fortune teller are true.
Don't you read my posts? The facts refer to the present non hypothetical situation

Than why no conclusive decisions?

Right wing press coverage goes barmy

"Boris Johnson is channeling the spirit of his political hero Winston Churchill as he looks to assert himself on the global stage.

Boris Johnson found his stride during his meeting with Trump, upping his game via his mirroring to signal that this is the level of politics he feels suits his own profile the best. His suit looked sharper, his chest was puffed with pride and his hands balled into fists of effort as he followed Trump down the staircase. His lip-clamped smile suggested he was seriously impressed by Trump and even keen to be seen as f*cked under the Trump wing in terms of power-grouping."

"LET US SELL PORKIES - Boris Johnson demands Donald Trump opens up US to Melton Mowbray pork pies"

I love that Gerald accepts the fear and misery accusation.

Acceptance is a good and healthy thing.

What's the Conservative lost hope doing today?
Gaining another 2% points on Labour taking them up to 32% in the polls - against 22% for labour 20 for the LDs 12% for Brexit.

Not bad huh?

Roll on Brexit then an election then we can all relax again.
