That's your opinion about what many consider to be (on all side of the political spectrum) one of the most insightful economists in the world right now.

OG - you're just not in his league. Just not in his league.

Bless.

Nice weather though huh? How's your wife?
Any improvements?
No I'm not, the man is clearly a bigotted idiot with no understanding of history
And supposedly an economist? In that case Boris is the tooth fairy
As to my wife's situation.
Thank you for asking, at best she is no worse, which is all we can expect alas

You know there is a person in high office across the Atlantic, whose favourite expressions are . "people say," "many consider" , , "I have been told" ..before coming out with some unverifiable claptrap.. of course none of these people in the know are ever identified, or may even exist .
Surely you are not trying to emulate such an august individual?.
So . Who precisely are the many, and what positions of credibility do they occupy?.

After writing The Rotten Heart of Europe: The Dirty War for Europe's Money, a negative treatment of the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, he was terminated in 1995 from his employment at the European Commission. An appeal of his dismissal to the European Court of Justice was unsuccessful.

He continues to have a negative view on the euro, and is a strong supporter of Brexit.

Bet he hates the French as much as tillson does

When he describes anyone with Socialist tendencies like this
"In the Brexit case, there is just an enemy – Britain – which must be impoverished, subjugated and humiliated. As for the domestic branch of the nomenklatura, one shudders to think what might be shaping its attitude.
Note the word
The nomenklatura were a category of people within the Soviet Union and other Eastern Bloc countries who held various key administrative positions in the bureaucracy, running all spheres of those countries .

The guy is a right wing raving lunatic he must have been to have written this
"Its mindset is arguably that the war – a war against political legitimacy – has never ended. Britain is now the most vulnerable part of the ‘Anglo-Saxon’ world, as it was in 1803-05 and in 1940. The obstruction of supplies of food and medicines to Britain would in effect be an act of aggression – but simply a more overt act in what has always been a long-running fight against the ‘Anglo-Saxon model’.

What war? who waged it?
Jumping cats, how can anyone not see that the guy is a phoney and not playing with a full deck?

I can see how wrong BREXIT is and how much damage already have created,if others would open their eyes and change their views, we could still stop this madness. All what I do now is trying to bring awareness to those who really need help, this who might not be aware what's coming

Have lived in the UK for 15 years

Always employed, without gaps, now running own restaurant

Paid thousands of pounds in taxes

Employing several people in our restaurant, directly and indirectly

❎

NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO GET SETTLED STATUS. This is ridiculous.

Now if the Government can cock something as simple as this up who on Earth can trust them to come up with pragmatic and do able "Alternatives" to the Backstop?
They couldn't manage to buy and screw a doorstop to a floor!
And Boris has thirty days to avoid being called "Mr No Deal"

Exciting times we live in
Bless

This as undemocratic as you can get without an overt coup. It won't just be European G7 leaders who are angered:

Boris Johnson seeks legal advice on five-week parliament closure ahead of Brexit
Secret plan to block any delay in leaving EU is likely to anger European leaders at G7 summit
Boris Johnson has asked the attorney general, Geoffrey Cox, whether parliament can be shut down for five weeks from 9 September in what appears to be a concerted plan to stop MPs forcing a further extension to Brexit, according to leaked government correspondence.

An email from senior government advisers to an adviser in No 10 – written within the last 10 days and seen by the Observer – makes clear that the prime minister has recently requested guidance on the legality of such a move, known as prorogation. The initial legal guidance given in the email is that shutting parliament may well be possible, unless action being taken in the courts to block such a move by anti-Brexit campaigners succeeds in the meantime.

by the time MPs come back, 17-18 October, it will be too late to stop Bojo taking the UK out on no deal.

Every week. Every week.

We've been here before. Last week in fact.

It's the weekly horror headline story from the Sunday Guardian. Not one of them has ever been true.

But you remainists still suck it up like a man with a sore throat and a packet of Tunes.

Can't see it happening but it will be interesting if it does.

Will there be a proxy war of trade with us as collateral?

It all seems so silly and detrimental to everyone.

Mays deal is so bad we really should revoke article 50 and start again. The backstop issue is nothing compared to the other stuff.

I was a bit suspicious of how this letter ended, so I looked up the rules.
pre- settled status is automatically upgraded to settled status after 5 years if you are not absent from the UK for more than 2 years ( I suspect that would have been the next line of the letter) Mr Wawrznak must have spent a lot of time abroad . He will automatically get settled status in August 2024 if he stays in the UK.(max 2 years outside)

No guarantee that the policy won't change in that time is there?
Come off it Daveboy, if it's automatic why not a simple acceptance letter?
Surely you wouldn't be happy to be treated like this?
You would have to be thick to do that
What the letter actually says, "if you become ill or fall on hard times during that time we will deport you." can hardly cheer him up, can it?
His best plan and that of anyone coming here from the EU is to take us for all they can get and head back home with the loot.
I wouldn't blame them considering the attitude shown in that response.

My point was the policy for the last 5 years not the next. Did he live here or not? or did he invest in a business then spend at least 2 years out of 5 out of the UK?
as I said, I was suspicious of how the letter ended.

If you move to Australia, You can't even leave the country for the first 2 years. So yes if I wanted to live there I would be happy to be treated like that. Are all the people that have moved to Australia thick?
