BREAKING NEWS - Ben Stokes appointed as government's new Brexit Secretary following his performance full of pluck and optimism in the 3rd Ashes Test.

How amazing was that?

Rio up the history books. They are useless now. This is year zero

Do you mean that?
Well at least it’s an answer, a pretty useless and irrelevant answer granted, but it is an answer. Usually the question is met with either silence, or a proclamation that we will gain something that we already have. That’s how utterly stupid Brexit is.

Sorry. Still buzzing from watching the cricket and now spurs.

BBQ in the garden. Could be the perfect Sunday.

Is it a coincidence that brexit is only a few weeks away?

I think not. Every Sunday will be like this once we leave.

It's also an obsession for the 17.4 million of us who voted to leave. You know. The ones that won the vote. Remember? The vote we had. The one where we had to decide. And we did. That one.
A “win” when you don’t know what the prize is, what it will mean and how it will affect you is not a win.

You could “win” the opportunity to contract cancer, but I don’t think anyone would claim their prize. Your “win” statement is therefore meaningless.

Human nature being what it is, it will be the new bad to moan about. Too hot, too much the same, too boring, too anything anyone can think of.

Until some future government has the idea of a referendum to join the EU. That will liven things up! ;)

Well as I say that will be the one that counts.

Join the Euro or not.

Until we do it's pointless being in the EU.

Well short term not a lot but long term we can make trade deals that are not tempered by the wishes of some Flemish truffle farmers or the like.
What kind of things we can do that the EU can't or has not done already in terms of FTAs?
the first deal we need done is with the EU, then with the USA, China, Norway, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Turkey, India, South Korea, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia, South Africa etc. in that order of priority.
We already have a deal with all of them, except with the USA. When DT leaves office, my guess the EU will do a deal with the USA pretty soon afterward.
We could well spend years after brexit replicating the deals the EU has with them, if the conservatives are still in power. If the conservatives are out of power before 10 years, that may all be for nothing because outside the conservative voters, most are against brexit.

Well as I said the deals will be constructed with our resources at mind. So they will be bespoke to us. I thought that was always the plan?

You see what I mean?

You say he's thick and his comeback is.....

You're thick.

He will accuse me of being a troll soon because I called him a troll.

Regular as a dripping tap and about as much fun.
Still here? and still nothing to contribute except abuse, even when you have to borrow someone elses.
And a different borrowed quote, my you are branching out!
How is your Brexit champion doing today?
Still getting nowhere?
What's the betting he will prorogue parliament and while they are away sign up to May's Deal?
Neat move...
Brexit and someone else to blame. traditional Boris move.

What’s “bespoke to us?” Flesh it out with a few specifics. What deals & with who, that sort of thing.

Sure.

We make a better that suits us not some Spanish acorn grower.

So when Canada sells us maple syrup we say cool. Tariff free. We don't get an Italian village arguing their maple syrup takes precedence.

Simple.

Anything else you need boiling down to layman's English drop me a line. String theory, rocket science, brain surgery etc.

I live to give.

Boris Johnson pitches pork pie and cauliflower export deal to Donald Trump

Ah reminds me off The Good Life* once we leave the EU - We can trade are allotment produce with the US in exchange for his surplus 'invading border migrants' to pick our cauliflours and man our Pork Pie factories.

Surprised BJ hasn't made the BBC show this golden oldie TV series as a repeat as a metaphor for the optimistic 'taking back control' theme.

* "Opening with the midlife crisis of Tom Good, a 40-year-old London plastics designer, it relates the joys and miseries he and his wife Barbara experience when they attempt to escape modern commercial living by "becoming totally self-sufficient" in their home in Surbiton."

bespoke? I don't think our guys try anything more than rolling over what they have with the EU and they already quibble about tariff free quotas.
