Sometimes humour falls flat. This is one such time. Whether it merits a prosecution is debatable, but an apology is not. Even if she is not prepared to, the BBC should apologise. There are numbers of women,.. particularly women who have had their faces destroyed,.

Im not sure the law cares about the stature of the person making the threats. Even if it does, the bbc could do a facebook and say nothing to do with us guv, freedom of speech, liberal democracy and all that shite, take it up with jo. even if they didnt, isnt it morally a bit hypocritical? I agree, the BBC is very uneven at times about the standards it applies and those standards are definitely lower than in the past. However I do think there is a big difference between a comedian making a joke and someone else like Farage saying the same, even if intended as a joke. With a known quantity like comedian Jo Brand we know what she says is intended as humour.
