Well I'm just assuming at this juncture but what else could it be?

No one is born with a melting face as far as I know.
Huh? We're talking about Jo Brand here.

Plus - a minimal amount of research tells me she has not been acid attacked herself.

the EU seems to soften their position on the Irish backstop.
If the ROI wants to limit the backstop, the other EU26 will be OK with it.
They should have cut TM a little slack on this.

I get the impression Boris is being hustled into the worlds worst job by the others making statements guaranteed to sink their chances'
Here is Rory making his play

"If I become Prime Minister I will introduce National Citizen Service - universal - for every young person. Purpose. Character. Coming together across the United Kingdom. "

There that should do it!

I sent him an encouraging tweet
"
Replying to @RoryStewartUK

"And there I was thinking you were serious! I notice how Boris is being hustled into number 10 by the others admitting things to ensure that they don't get the job? Well done Rory. Let Boris take the Blame for Brexit! this is like a recruiting drive for Kamikaze pilots!"
.....................................................

He has gone up in my estmation, clearly he's not as daft as he looks!

We are still members, so...
EU-funding given to Pembrokeshire ports to boost tourism

Two Pembrokeshire ports are set to benefit from a share of €2.6m EU-funding to help turn them into key tourist sites.

The project is part of an Ireland Wales Co-operation programme called The Ports, Past and Present project.

The project hopes to improve tourism opportunities, tourist experiences, and the livelihoods of coastal communities on both sides of the Irish Sea.

The five ports selected to receive a share of the EU-funding are Fishguard and Pembroke Dock in Pembrokeshire, alongside Dublin, Rosslare and Holyhead.

wonder where they got the money from for that

in all seriousness Jo Brand can be quite funny in a caustic cruel kind of way, and although not a great fan can occasionally raise a titter. But in general I find the modern comedians very unfunny. one exception for me being Mickey Flanagan who I find hilarious.

The problem with rating modern comedians is that they have to compete with the House of Commons and the Murdoch Press

he is very different from BJ.
As you said, imagine BJ leading the conservatives in a banzai charge, he'd be the one getting stuck on the zip wire.

There is something ominous about the way he now seems desperate to take on a role he so obviously fled in fear from the morning after the referendum.
Someone has him by the short and curlies obviously, he really isn't that brave.

he knows that he can't deliver brexit any better than TM. That's fear in itself.

No he cant, but he can deliver no deal without changing any policy. Its exactly why May had to leave, she had promised her deal and her version of Brexit. BJ has made it clear from start, if EU dont compromise it will be no deal.
The remainers have pushed us into this black or white mentality. May's deal suited no one and everyone. As such we should have all seen its merits, when she went, compromise went with her. Its our required deal or no deal. Our required deal is always going to be unattainable, hence logically the only outcome is no deal. Remainers worst fear. All the noise, posting, criticising and insulting should have been directed at lobbying MPs to represent their views. Instead Corbyn has hijacked no deal for his own Marxist ideals, remainers refused to support Libdem but yet will be surprised and in uproar when we get no deal.
It gets more inevitable with each passing day.
We should, including MPs, all have grabbed May's deal for sake of peace, but no, both extremes have demanded their own way but with little real effort to attain it. Just noise.
Labour have been a disgrace, representing no one and not being opposition.

Is this a joke. They are now saying it can be done, This one concession would have seen May's deal go through, Saying that if they had given Camermoron one concession we would never have been in this position.
The Eurocrats are a set of Jeremy Hunts.

I think they were being deliberately awkward, probably due to May's personality and a desire not to assist her in any way.

It was always more nuanced than rabid brexiteers were prepared to accept. The Irish position and accepted by Brussel was that there be no physical border posts along the Border. That is what the Backstop,so called ,was.
If alternative technological solutions were to arise ,and these were agreeable to both the UK and EU sides, so that smuggling could be eliminated (or brought to minimal levels), then divergence from common standards could occur. Now it was always very simple for the UK to put border posts in Larne or Belfast, and The EU to put posts in Dublin and Rosslare..But the Hard line Brexiteers refused this ,at the insistence of the DUP. Do not blame others for your own failings.
The simple fact is that there is no technological solution at present, and no effort and no finance has been put into devising one. We in the South know of the constant traffic in oil lorries and washed diesel already traversing the border..and it is not being consumed in the NI statelet, it travels on to Manchester etc. It is just my local authority which has to deal with the dumped toxic wash chemicals, left on laybyes .. The washing being done in premises straddling the border

The technology is already here. It’s being used in Switzerland.

Trying to pass the blame yet again? Will you never learn? The blame is entirely the property of people who voted to leave, no one else, leave are in the position of power yet they can't pull out off, it's time you stopped making ludicrous attempts to avoid the blame.
