We don't have to overtake or even match, we can just operate independently, even if technologically somewhat behind. I don't know the standard of living of my equal in China, nor do I need to know. It's only necessary for me to be happy with mine in this world of inequalities.
As for relative size, the ruling and emotional heart of Russia has always been in Europe, and it would be very easy for a United Europe and Russia to unite as one. Indeed this is the German political preference, which is why they've opposed the current sanctions, preferring diplomacy. The combined whole of Europe and the Russias of near a billion people would be a match for any other of the world's giants, its vast area also.
We just have to think smart, be open minded and see the possibilities.

A good point of view in many ways.
In one particular aspect, I feel that I will be very much unhappy at China having made advances not accessible to me. Healthcare.
In my particular area of experience and understanding, we are seeing so many Chinese papers on aspects of thyroid disease it is astonishing.
As you might expect, some are rubbish, but sometimes they are asking the right questions and coming up with interesting answers or directions.

Secondly, the police gave no protection whatsoever at the last two venues, where milkshakes were thrown. What do you expect them to do when there's no law to support them? What would you have done - politely ask the fascists to leave? They tried that, but the fascists didn't want to go.
If you think it's OK for anyone to throw milkshakes over guys that have different opinions to yourself, I hope that someone does it to you, or maybe a sausage sandwich with lots of red sauce. See how you like it, John!

This has only small connection to brexit. You have Le Pen in France, Salvini in Italy, Orban in Hungary too and more recently, Abascal in Spain.
it's one of the problems the EU has to deal with and it shows clearly the limit of EU's supranational power over its members.
Like other ex Soviet bloc countries, democracy in Poland is evolving. The EU functions on consensus, I suppose Poland will grow out of it in a decade or so when economic progress enhances the role of law and freedom.

Have to say vr I live in a seaside town and yes you often see people young and old (like me) walking around with milkshake's and fizzy drinks, that's why we're all so fit and healthy
Yes, I've known about this and the similar attitudes in Hungary for some while.
But both Poland and Hungary are economically very dependent on manufacturing other EU countries products, giving the EU a whip hand if necessary.

I'm not sure what I think really because I didn't know about it. My first thought is why I hadn't heard anything about it. It sounds fairly significant news to me, and it offers an alternative to Brexit, which is basically to claim all the benefits and stick a finger up to all their rules, sort of like what the French have been doing for years. I guess that sort of thing is just not British, or is it because those in control of UK have their own agenda? To me, it seems like the Poles kicked out their crooked globalists and set the agenda that the ordinary people wanted.
To be honest, I think we're going to see a lot more of this sort of thing until the present model of the EU collapses in on itself. I think as much as the UK government needs to sort itself out, the EU needs to do the same. I've always been saying that they're big ideas are not wanted and they won't work, so they need to have a re-think about what the EU should be and how it should work, where there would be more autonomy for the individual countries.
You will see the same rising up against the establishment in this country. It's only a matter of time, and I don't think it will be long.

It has more to do with forming alliances with right wing and populist parties, nothing to do with kicking out the globalists. If they did, give me some names.
They kicked out the previous regime when they voted PIS in! I thought was would be a pretty easy thing to understand. It's the same as when Nigel Farage and his crew all get elected as MEPs, the old ones get kicked out.
I see Sargon of Akkad has risen in popularity since he started his MEP campaign. He's now got approaching 1 million subscribers on Youtube, and rising fast. That's substantially more than Jeremy Corbyn's got on his channel. Here's his latest. He gets a lot of publicity from key figures. What happens is that they try and slag him off with comments like "Sargon, the Youtuber that was involved in a rape scandal", so people check out his channel to see who he is, then they like what they see. The latest one was Jeremy Corbyn denouncing him for not apologising for a joke he told. Here's Sargon's reply. I love it.
