Isn't it odd how we weigh things up? This story reflects very badly on the tories and, obviously, this individual. Yet I end up asking whether it really matters in the context of the major things that are going on? Does a bit of expenses fraud afttect us anything like as much as referendum fraud and incompetence at the top?

Tory MP Christopher Davies admits expenses fraud
MP for Brecon and Radnorshire pleads guilty to two charges over claims in 2016
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/mar/22/tory-mp-christopher-davies-admits-expenses-fraud

Seems this is enough to trigger a recall petition.

And he is (was?) a member of the
Public Accounts Committee!

Notice we have operation Joint Warrior starting 30th March, running until 11th April. Quite a presence of the future EU army on British Soil? A coincidence??
Reckon they are here to keep remainers from rioting when we get no deal.
Made mistake of looking without logging in this morning. Jesus OG, 13 posts so far today. Are you really that bored...
Youre confusing what you feel with what you think others feel, again. As a remainer, im neither anxious nor angry. It seems blindingly obvious,as it has for some time, that the present tory leadership would transform anything - not least as difficult and impossible as brexit - into incoherent undelivereable embarrasing but profoundly unthreatening crud. There is a reason eu negotiators decised from the outset to sit back and leave the ball in mays court.

Oh I got that wrong.

The UK has ,as far as the EU is concerned, a unconditional get out of jail card until the 12th. .April
By 12th. ,They have to either have
1. Committed to the WA or presumably have something closer aligned to the EU. In which case they have to have all paperwork sorted by 22 May
2. Committed to run EU elections,in which case a new extension could be worked out
3. Revoked Article 50 .
However to go beyond 29th. March, the HoC has to vote on amendments to their internal Withdrawal Act..Otherwise the 29th March date still stands.
A no deal crash out on 29th. is still the law of the land in the UK.
That clock is still ticking

Well no nail biting suspense then - with only a week to go, they will never be able to do a vote on anything is such a short period of time...

it's just adding a new regulation to change the date of brexit to 12th April, then another one on the 11th April to change again.

Its no deal then??
Or more accurately,
"Its a no deal then!"
I don't think it will come to that. The more pressing point is who is going to replace TM.
When she accused MPs of not helping brexit, she has already accepted that her time is fast running out.
The next PM, even as a standing in, will want to extend A50 for a year.
The EU would want to know in the next two weeks who they will have to talk to.

At the current rate, it'll be over 4 millions before tomorrow.
Fascinating.

in the end we may not need something as bad as a hard Brexit to penetrate leavers consciousness. May's noxious personality may be enough.

the stench of betrayal hangs in the air!!!
are you saying that because TM asked for an extension, she betrayed brexit?
ask those who support no deal. They are the ones who push remainers to fight brexit.

3,100,779 do. It's why they took part.

And despite them pretending to ignore it, the government cares since even without the 3 million they'd have to debate it on the remaining 100k plus.

This response is unique and nothing that government conceived possible when this petition facility was opened.
.
Ha-ha-ha ... !! clearly a massive shift to Leave -
What???...a pathetic 3M from a total of 16M two years ago - very embarrassing, and all with Bots and scripts running to push up the count..lol!

and the latest polls confirm the trend..

Public opinion has shifted in favour of No Deal Brexit
New polling from Opinium has shown that there is a clear increase in public support for a No Deal Brexit. Theresa May could have delivered that next Friday on 29th March as promised, but has chosen not to. It really is shameful.

As Opinium themselves say “in the past week there has been a shift towards No Deal amongst the public”.

If Parliament rejects Theresa May’s deal once again as expected, 46% of voters support leaving on WTO terms. That compares to 39% who support delaying Brexit to hold a second referendum, giving No Deal a 7-point lead.

Interestingly, that is a decisive shift from the week before when both choices were backed by 43% of voters.

Labour Leave voters appear to be a decisive factor and are hardening even further in favour of Brexit. In a poll last week 48% of them backed No Deal. That has now risen to 68%.

Nearly three-quarters of Conservative voters (70%) now back a No Deal Brexit as well.

The Research Manager at Opinium, James Crouch, has said: “The tone surrounding Brexit has become increasingly bitter and accusatory in the last week. Theresa May’s address last night might have tapped into the public perception that MPs are dragging their heels over Brexit, but she now faces rising anger from the group of people who ultimately have to pass her deal.

“The concern for MPs must be any public movement towards accepting No Deal. With the ultimate outcome in the balance and an ‘accidental No Deal’ easily possible, many on both sides of the House would prefer to keep the political pressure about preventing the UK crashing out of the European Union.”

you should consider too neutral sources when it comes to data.
(Tommie's source is the westmonster website, dedicated to fighting for leavers).

This is the analysis from Professor Curtice:
https://whatukthinks.org/eu/author/johncurtice/
when Opinium asked voters whether they preferred Mrs May’s deal or remaining in the EU, 36% said they preferred the deal and 46% remaining in the EU.
while Leavers are moving toward wanting their MPs to vote for May's deal.
